About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Play Somewhere Else
I play this course out of convenience from time to time because it is the closest course to my house. I always regret playing here as it is more expensive than other courses and is maintained poorly. The course had been getting better but took a big step backward recently. I played yesterday and the fairways are full of weeds, the greens are in terrible shape and some of the tee boxes are also very bad. They only had one kind of soda in the pro shop and the restaurant had none. They won't see me back for a while. Funny thing is they sent me an email asking for feedback but you cannot reply to the email or even contact them through the website. They don't want feedback.

Very Friendly staff
The staff was the friendliest I have encountered at any golf course. They made you feel at home and actually appear to be happy at work!

Greens were absolutely terrible
Not even close to being worth 40$ for 9 holes. Will not be playing there again til prices lower

They need to focus on golf and not all the other stuff

Needs more work
Amenities are not sufficient to support the members or players. Lunch is now kind of being available Resident golf has been discontinued because restaurant doesn’t want to handle it. No longer have liquor available. Limited lunch is good but not sufficient. Outside deck is still under construction. The membership is not a good deal. The staff are FANTASTIC

Excellent Staff
Greens were recently punched, so obviously not in the best shape. Fairways were pretty fury. However, Connie did an excellent job catering to my needs and was a great help in the clubhouse before my 9 hole round. Cart guy was super nice as well. Will be back!

Not worth the money
This course has gone downhill in the past two years. The greens were either bare or so riddled with Poanna that we picked up on several of them. Rocks were prevalent in the bunkers. If you want any beverages, you have to wait until after the fifth hole to get to a vending machine. Even then, 4 choices are all you have. Water coolers on 4 holes but nothing available in the pro shop at all. The staff was nice and apologetic for the lack of amenities and condition of the course. Even after a recent price reduction, they are still asking too much.

Don’t play here
Very nice layout, tees and fairways were great, greens are horrible, ful of Poa, bumpy and slow. Nice guy in pro shop, he told me at the turn that they had been bought out by an individual who didn’t want to put anymore money into the course. They have no snack bar, they have turned that into an Italian restaurant, not kidding you

Poa Annua out of control
The poa annua on the greens is crazy. There is no grass. When the heat kills the poa annua I'm not sure there will be any grass. I've been playing for 60 years and these were the worst greens I've ever seen.

HORRIBLE GREENS
I’m surprised they charged to play the course, the greens were the worst I have ever played!
Played with locals and the company was great! But its always disappointing when you show up for around and find out the greens aren’t even playable and they charge you full price.

What a shame...
I would've rather been putting on the fairways/aprons than on the greens. I'm not certain they should be referred to as "greens"... terrible.
I still can't believe how much money they charge to play this course.
It's a shame because I live 4 miles away and am looking for a home course.

The greens are the worst I seen in years.
Course layout and fairways , tee boxes are great.
The putting surface , greens were a complete disaster.
I will come back as soon as they are fixed.

Poor greens
I have played this course several times and it is one of the friendliest course with exceptionally wide fairways. However, this course has suffered with the worst greens I have ever seen - and not one or two but every green is virtually un-puttable.
But the real issue is there is nothing on the Club's website to indicate how poor the conditions are. Yes the greens fees are somewhat lower but the playing public should be told about conditions - which I hope will improve - before a player shows up in the Pro Shop.
