The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes
About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Course played well today
Course conditions were excellent today. I have played here 4 times previous, first time in July, and the course was in excellent shape.
OK round of golf
The course was in good condition. The sand bunkers needed some work. The greens were a little slow. Overall, it was worth checking out this course. I would say a good value for the money. As a twosome, we were stuck behind some butt-heads in a foursome that would not let us through until we skipped a hole - so that was a little damper on the experience.
Great Course
course is in great shape. Liked that they had ice and water machines on both the front and back 9. Looks like the new Clubhouse should be ready to go anytime. Greens were a little slow but rolled true. Temperature was 100+ so there weren’t many people playing which was nice. Will play again.

I have played this course many times and have no serious complaints. It is fairly long (6200 from the whites), but relatively flat with decent landing areas off the tee. The bunkers could have had more sand, but other than that the playing conditions were very good. It is not a resort type course (ie, aesthetics) but I do not think anyone would be disappointed playing there.
Good course off I95 to meet for first day
Good course off I95 to for everyone to meet for first day of Hilton Head long weekend. We picked this course for the location due to guys coming up I95 from north and the south. We liked the course layout but the only problem were the greens were bumpy and not a good roll. Bunkers were packed down with puddles in them but there has been a lot of rain even before we came. We had to wait out some rain and finished without a problem.Staff was great, price was great. We would play again and it was good to get some swings at a fair rate on the day of travel,

Has very wide fairways and greens are good. Will come back to play again.
1st Time At Traditions
Unfortunately the course had received a lot of rain. It was wet and cartpath only. However, the fairways were smooth and in great shape. The greens were a little inconsistent due to being early in the season still. I expect them to improve over the summer. The layout was beautiful and a unique combination of forgiving yet challenging. I look forward to playing in a couple months and in dryer conditions.
Goofball
I golf for fun no handicap , sometimes don't even keep score. today Wife was with me so she kept score. 89 and a 99. We had an enjoyable round and did'nt get pushed or held up. we will be back!
Easy course for most people
Should be a fun course for most anybody… The staff was young and very friendly… I had a great time with my service dog and my girlfriend
good course
course and greens in good shape.
people working here were great.will be back many times.
Great Staff, Great Course, Great Weather, Great Time
Even though the greens had been aerated, we still enjoyed the game. The staff was extremely friendly, and quick to respond to our needs. Anybody who wants to play a course that is challenging in spots, test your game on this course. We've played here several times and that's why we keep coming back, even though it's a drive of some fifty or so miles.

Great day
Course is in great shape. You can really see the course shaping up for the season . Greens although recently sanded were smooth with no weeds. Fairway weeds were sprayed so looking good for the future. A playable course for all and a great value. New carts have arrived and clubhouse is almost done. Looking forward to a great year at HHL. Dan
The course only had 9 holes open, the greens were very poor and the fairways very thin. Course is under developed.
Thanks
Larry
Terrible Customer Service
Have played the course a number of times without incident but when we arrived this time we were set up on a very rough looking cart so I asked for another one and was told they couldn't supply another one but if I continually pressed the brake it will eventually work. Cart started to die on the 12th hole and quit a few holes later. Partner walked to the pro shop and when the young guy came out with another cart he thought the whole thing was quite funny. After struggling with the cart for a number of holes I failed to see the humor in the situation. He said it was probably the third cart to quit recently. Before we left the parking lot I said how disappointed we were we did not finish our round and he said it wasn't his problem. He said we should have called for another cart. I told him we didn't have a phone and he said that was on us and we couldn't blame him for the problem. Because of his terrible attitude and lousy customer service we cancelled the two games we had booked for the following week and WILL NEVER RETURN. Should also mention when we arrived at the first tee there was a "sixsome" on the tee. All six guys teed off and fortunately when they saw we were a twosome they kindly let us go ahead of them. Unfortunately a very nice day was ruined by a young man who needs to learn something about customer service.
A little better than average
Course is a nice layout. Fairways were a little thin and dry, but you are able to roll you ball to find a piece grass to hit off. Greens were not bad. They were firm and rolled well. Staff was friendly.
Course evaluation
This course was a very nice course but when the housing development is finished it will probably be as good as any course in Hilton Head I appreciate the fact that I was able to play the course.
