The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Will be back soon!!!

Loved the course! I'm not a very good golfer but I enjoyed the round tremendously. Some holes were more forgiving but all were challenging. Great course, especially for the money.

Great shape for the Money

The course was in great shape, greens rolled true and in excellent shape. Plenty of distance markers in fairways. Wide fairways and almost no trees, very forgiving to errant shots. Temporary clubhouse until built. Course spread out with some long rides to next hole.

Challenging With Good Conditions

Course can play long. Greens have quite a few slopes but roll amooth. Greens were a little long and slow but somewhat expected with the severe heat lately. I like the layout and shotmaking opportunities. Good shots are rewarded.

Finally, it's a great deal with a cart. I would consider this course unwalkable due to distances between holes.

Great Course

Course was in excellent condition. Fairways, Greens, and Tee Boxes all excellent. Some of the best course conditions in the area. More wide open than other courses in the area. Wind and effects more noticeable. Course is maturing. Still excellent in all aspects. Must play.

roc

very open course, trees are small, no shade, club house not built, short staff . Excellent value for your money. This place will be great once trees mature and club house is completed.

Slow greens

It is a fun golf course and in good shape. My only complaint was that the greens are very slow. Also the water coolers on the course were mostly empty on a 100 degree day.

Course Difficulty

Enjoyed playing the course. Very open and forgiving. Need to place the ball in the right spots on the course to be able to score well. Greens were in good shape and rolled very true. Would play the course again. Wish course was marked better.

Hilton Head Lakes A Winner

The course was in excellent condition especially the greens. You can play long tees or up and still have a good time. I am a 73 year old senior and played the middle tees.

Recommend this course for any 80 to 90 scoring player.

Big fairways

Course was extremely wet and was cart path only. Really only problem with this course is poor drainage after rains. Greens were fine, pace of play was fine , and most holes have big fairways to hit.

What HHI needed in a new GC...

The GC @ HH-Lakes is just what HHI golf needed; a GC with wide fairways. You see for Hackers, Duffers and Whackers like myself (and by the way-WE ARE THE MAJORITY OF GOLFERS THAT PLAY), like too have fun with the least amount of aggravation due to the difficulty of the narrow fairways on most of the courses in and around HHI. The wide fairways led to a stress free time for me off the tee's. Which often led to a safe 2nd shot, etc. The fairways need to be de-crabgrassed with patches of the stuff in every fairway. The tiered greens which were like watching your ball go on a roller coaster ride were a lot of fun. I saw 3 baby gators and heard tales of the resident 14 footer that lives in the #10 fairway lagoon. A Great GC !!! Go on and give it a try....

Golf Now should advise tournements are being held

Made my tee time on Golf Now Friday night. Showed up at 9 Am to find a tournament was just starting. Play was SLOW, SLOW, SLOW.
Greens were thick and slow. Felt like I was putting on the fringe. Weeds were growing on the greens.
Played here same time last year and it was very good. I would not have played had I known a tournament was scheduled.
I would play again because I know they can do better. Staff was excellant.

new course...they are working to make it hilton head quality

Overall the course is good. it is relatively new on the tour of Hilton Head. It is a good course...I was surprised the quality of the traps with the Fazio name were not real good...the sand was not the fluffy white I am use to at a Fazio course..it could be the drainage. the Fairways need more grass and better maintenance..need fertilizer and water...but the greens even though just aerated...were very good. this course will be good if the maintenance continues...but it does need work.

Friendley

The course is starting to look better. The shop was super friendly and they had a cart girl come around halfway between every 9. Beautiful and wide open holes, but the fairways are still a little rough (weeds). But it is a good course for the money.

Great time

Rained a day before and overall it was a little wet but no puddles and the sand traps were clean. Staff was awesome. Really fast carts and well designed cart path. Beautiful area. Got to hear some bull frogs in the pond.
