About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Long but open course
A very wide open and fairly flat course. But also very long. Easy enough to be enjoyable for beginners (which is what most of my group was), but a few challenges to more advanced players, like small greens that are often surrounded by hazards and rough.
This new course is excellent for the price
Excellent course for the money, we booked our tee times using Golf Now for $25/person. The staff was very friendly and professional. The greens were in very good shapes. I will play this course again.

People will be people
The course is great value especially on a hot deal. The course dries very well after several days of downpours. However some of the golfers don't seem to know the etiquette of golf. I have been out by myself and have caught up to a threesome on a couple of occasions. This round I waited for on them for 11 holes most of the time they were on the tee box. They wouldn't let me join them or play through.

bang 4 the buck
Played 3 courses in Hilton head area. Crescent pointe, island west and here Hilton head lakes. Hhl by far the best an dost enjoyable. From tee boxes to greens absolutely wins hands down!! I'm no scratch golfer, so not fond of really narrow fairways. Hhl fits 4 me!!

Great new course
Nice course and very friendly staff. New course and nice concrete cart paths. The course can be challenging because there is a lot of H20. Hilton Head Lakes.

I like the course
The conditions couldn't be helped, the course had some heavy rain, for about three days. About the time we finished, I believe they could have let people on the course..

forgiving course in good condition. greens recently aerated but rolled ok. love playing here.
The course conditions have improved!
The rain has certainly helped this course and conditions have improved greatly. Tees, fairways and greens have grown in nicely especially the greens. What a surprise based on the conditions three months ago.
Great course for the price!!
This is the second time I have played this course and even better than the first. Really enjoyed the fact that they let me go out on my own instead of pairing me, finished in under 3 hours. Great staff, will be a complete package when they build the club house.
Fun Layout. Lots of varietty
Unlike most courses in Hilton Head, this course looks wide open. Every fairway is not tree lined. However, the water and sand make things tighter than they appear. A welcome change of charachter. Very nice layout. Conditions a little rough but only due to recent aeration of the greens. Far from the island so be prepared for a drive.
Good Course to Play
The course conditions have greatly improved over the past few months. The fairways are greener and moved less frequently to keep them from drying out. The greens are smooth and roll true. They were slower than the last time I played there but all in all it was a goog golfing experience for the cost.
Best Bang for your Buck in HHI/Bluffton
Course is always in great shape and pace of play is matched by nobody else. Course is challenging yet fair and the scenery is great.
Great course for the money
This course is pretty wide open for the beginners but long enough with strategically place hazards for the pros. Greens and fairways are in good shape.

Continuing to Improve
This was the 3rd time I've played the course this year, and the maintenance staff is doing a wonderful job of making improvements. The greens are very improved, and the overall condition of the course id dramatic from my visit visit. Very good value golf course!
Great Value
the facilities were exceptional, while the price was very affordable
Still not complete
The course is maintained decently with nice fairways and FAST well maintained greens. No course layout could be found anywhere, so as a first timer at this course, it was difficult to tell where I was supposed to be going.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
My only complaint is that in the middle of summer in South Carolina, they should probably have more water coolers. I only found one on the whole course.
Great Value
Would recommend this course to any golfer. Course is well maintained. Wide-open. This will be one of the best courses in this area in the next 10 years. Once the home construction is completed this will be a very challenging course. Will play this course again while here on vacation and will continue to go every year we visit HHI. Scorecard was not very helpful concerning distances. NO GPS or course layout to help. However, enjoyed the round of golf.
