Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Teal Bend
Greens had been punched Monday before and there was no announcement or advertisement through golf now or by staff until we were on first tee and one of the pro shop staff drove out and handed us free play coupons for our next round. Course was green and has some challenging holes. Looking forward to next round here
Beautiful Course
First time out at Teal Bend! The course was simple yet challenging, hole placement made you strategize more with your approach shots, fairways & greens were excellent(once they dried out). YOU MUST STAY ON THE FAIRWAYS!
Greens are in great shape
I've played here several times and this is the best I've seen the greens. The mosquitoes are plentiful is my only complaint.
Weather was the best part
Winter grass?Fairways thin & brown, looking for turf to hit off.
Greens fast
Pace was good
Bring mosquito repellant
Excellent Condition
I haven't played Teal in years. The greens use to be rock hard and wouldn't hold approach shots. Not now! The course was great and the greens were the best I've played in years.
Overall, great course
Beautifully maintained course. Awesome greens.
My husband and I were joined by two locals, Brad, and Scott, who is one of the course marshals. They were supreme course ambassadors. We had such a fun day with them and we will definetly be back!
Good overall experience
Great course! I like how the tee boxes are separated and that playing from the whites, most of the par 4's and 5's were reachable. The greens were in really good shape and challenging to say the least. Well worth an afternoon!
Course For All
Hadn't played this course in a while. The course was in great condition. First green there were free divot tools to use, still some were not fixed, some people are just lazy or don't care. Overall the course was great, fairways were in good condition, traps actually had sand and greens were running great. Only one problem, it is fall and there are a lot of leaves and debris on the greens probably due to a little wind that came through just before we started. This is not the courses fault as this is mother nature doing her thing. The course at this time of day was not real busy so we took our time and still finished in about 3 hours and 45 minutes. Also might add that the gentleman working the restaurant was great, very friendly and was fast. This is a great course for anyone and I highly recommend it.
Fun course to play!
Teal bend has a great atmosphere to play 18 holes for any level of golfer. It's a course to go out and use every club in the bag. The mature trees surrounding the course provide a great echo on a pure shot, as well as, the greens are rolling pure and quick. When the price is right its a tough course to beat.
Lots of flys and gnats flying around
There was no Marshall and play moved very slow. Other then that the course was fine.
Course in great shape
Hadn't played here in a while, good to see course well kept and best I have seen the greens roll. A few too many pitch marks on them that weren't repaired but what would you expect late on a Sunday.
Quality & value that's tough to beat
Teal Bend Golf Club never disappoints. It offers arguably the best practice facility around, with a grass range and three seperate greens for all short game needs. The layout of the course is fantastic with each hole separated by mature trees and brush. Course conditions were fantastic, given the drought. (Fix your divots and pitch marks folks) The staff is very friendly and the restaurant food and beverage was quite good. Teal Bend is a really nice getaway, peaceful and quiet with wildlife galore. Definitely my go to course in greater Sacrsmento.
Top notch
One of the best public golf courses in greater sac. Staff is friendly and helpful. Practice facilities are fantastic. Course is beautifully laid out and well maintained ( like everywhere else, course suffers from those who don't feel divots and pitch marks) Food and drinks at the restaurant are bomb.com. Must play.
Great Golf Course
I've played quite a few courses in the area, along with the resort in Cache Creek, I will take Teal Bend over all the public courses in this area!
GOOD TO GO
Had a great time and in just a tad over 4 hours. Greens could use a little more tender care, since some golfers do not repair ball marks.
This course has a great lay out
Beautiful course but I was very disappointed in the greens. They were very slow and bumpy. Staff was very friendly.
Love Teal Bend
This is one of my favorite courses in the Sacramento area. It's about a 20-30 minute drive for me, but well worth it. The greens tend to be soft but fast. Drives get lot of roll in the summer especially. Probably has the best practice facilities in the area, with grass driving range, and sand/chipping practice area.
First Time at Teal Bend
My first impression of Teal Bend was that both the staff and facilities are very nice and worth the drive. Despite the drought the course was in very good shape. When I booked on Golf Now I wasn't informed that the greens had been punched until I paid. Although somewhat disappointing I felt better when the course, for an additional $7, offered me an additional round after 1pm any day until 12/31. Truthfully, only a handful of greens showed signs of being punched. Played in 4 hours with little waiting. Great experience at Teal Bend.....definitely going back.
A new favorite for me
A new course to add to my favorites list. I like courses that are set in a forest like setting with good maintenance, and this course definitely fits the bill. Despite the drought, the conditions are still very good. There are some brown spots, particularly in the rough off the fairway, but the fairways and greens are in good shape. The fairways are narrow, and some of the holes play long, but not impossibly so. There is a nice variety to the layout. If I were to nitpick about anything it would be that the pace of play was kind of slow, and the weather was a bit muggy in the afternoon. I would try for a morning tee time if possible in the summer. It was also surprising for a course this nice that the patrons would not fix their ball marks on the green. I repaired as many as I could, but I don't know that I have ever seen a nice course in which the ball marks were so seldom repaired. Overall, a great course and a great experience. I only wish that I lived closer to Sacramento so that I could play it more often.
Good To Play This Coursr Again
First time back to this course in a long time and had a blast. Greens had just been aerated but played good. Booked our round on GolfNow and it was my wife's first time playing here. The setting is awesome and the course is challenging. Can't wait to come back.
First time I have posted on someone else"s comment. Don't understand why you do not recommend this course after having said this course is fine except for the slow play. You stated that this was the first time you played here, sometimes play is slow no matter where you play at, it is going to happen at times. The way I look at it is, any day you are playing golf is a good day, enjoy it.
