Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Teal
Corse was in good shape. Greens a touch slow and bumpy but we played at 4pm, so can be expected.
Wildlife plus interesting layout
Best tasting cold drinking water in the valley. Course is an interesting and challenging layout that is in good condition, especially for hot Sacramento summer. Usual assortment of squirrels, ducks and geese, turkeys (even the playing kind) + a bobcat to balance the occasional bad shot. Definatly play again.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased that you enjoyed our course layout. We are glad that you were up to the challenge. We hope to see you back soon for your next round at Teal Bend!
Pace of Play
Course was in good condition, but the starter and pro shop were oblivious to who was teeing off. Our tee time was 2:15 pm, but we didn't start until 2:30 pm. There were no announcements and we went off as a twosome. Two holes later, the single player behind us joined in and he just teed off by himself with no instruction from the starter. There were two foursomes ahead of us and the course clearly stated the round should take 4.5 hours. Over 5 hours later, we finished. We waited on every shot.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased that you enjoyed our course, but we apologize for the pace of play and lack of instruction. We will make sure to address these issues immediately. We hope to see you back soon for your next round at Teal Bend!
Great course
Great course for the intermediate and advanced player.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased that you enjoyed our course. We hope to see you back soon for your next round at Teal Bend!
Fast game
Finished the course in 3-1/2 hours. Minimal players on course, possibly due to 100+ temperature and celebrity golf event in Sacramento area. Course is well taken care of, nice cold water in containers on course, and course well manicured as usual.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased that you enjoyed our course. We hope to see you back soon for your next round at Teal Bend!
Really Impressed
I played Teal Bend about 15 years ago. My uncle from Virginia loves this course because it reminds him of the courses back home. Tree lined fairways, no houses and no highways. Only one down fall, the greens were sanded but still rolled nicely. I will definitely make the drive again soon.

Afternoon trip
Nice course. Nice greens for the pice & traffic. It represents Sacramento well. Close to rivers and loaded with trees. Good eye candy but they don't really interfere with play or pace. The pace was great in the afternoon. Probably because nobody likes mosquitos.
I take repellent. And my kids are grown.
So Zika doesn't really worry me. ;-)
Thank you for your review! We are pleased that you enjoyed our course. We're glad that the mosquitoes didn't keep you away. We hope to see you back soon for your next round at Teal Bend!
Always a great experience
I have started playing this course more and more and each time I am glad I did. The layout is challenging, but fair, the greens are in fantastic shape and roll true. Bring some bug spray as the mosquitos are out both early morning and at dusk.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased that you enjoyed our course. We apologize for the mosquitoes, but thank you for returning. We hope to see you back soon for your next round at Teal Bend!
Not worth it
The course itself is nice, but not worth what they charge. The worse thing about the course is the stinch and mosquitos. They charge a premium price but aren't providing an overall premium experience customers are looking for...expecting...and yes, deserve.
Conditions
For a course that was aeriated just two weeks ago it was in outstanding shape. This course is one of the best in Sacramento area
Fun course
The course is still recovering from punching 3 weeks ago. Still fun to play, even though not in best condition. Will be going back when course is in better condition.
Teal Bend
The course was in decent shape but they just punched the greens. However if it was not a hot deal I would not play as they are still charging full price on even weekday afternoons for punched greens.
NO MERCY IF YOU"RE OFF THE FAIRWAY !
Have played this course 20+ times...sometimes great, other times miserably....and it all depends on whether you can keep the call on the fairway. There's no mercy if you launch a tee shot right or left. The fairways are lined with VERY thick berry bushes, shrubs, weeds, and months of blown leaves. Lose a ball sideways, and start adding up bogeys and double bogeys. Literally like trying to find a needle in a haystack..and it's not even full poisen oak season yet !! (yes, it gets worse in the rough !!!)Course was almost empty the day we were there...conditions were solid and staff at front desk was awesome. Best thing about this course is being able to stop at Swabbies for Shredded Beef Tacos and a cold beer post-round !!!!
Great value,..and I'll keep coming back....albeit with a bag full of lesser-priced balls so I can contribute even more to the thousands that have met a demise in the dense walls of jungle lining the fairways !
Teal Bend
Greens had been punched Monday before and there was no announcement or advertisement through golf now or by staff until we were on first tee and one of the pro shop staff drove out and handed us free play coupons for our next round. Course was green and has some challenging holes. Looking forward to next round here
Beautiful Course
First time out at Teal Bend! The course was simple yet challenging, hole placement made you strategize more with your approach shots, fairways & greens were excellent(once they dried out). YOU MUST STAY ON THE FAIRWAYS!
Greens are in great shape
I've played here several times and this is the best I've seen the greens. The mosquitoes are plentiful is my only complaint.
Weather was the best part
Winter grass?Fairways thin & brown, looking for turf to hit off.
Greens fast
Pace was good
Bring mosquito repellant
Excellent Condition
I haven't played Teal in years. The greens use to be rock hard and wouldn't hold approach shots. Not now! The course was great and the greens were the best I've played in years.
Overall, great course
Beautifully maintained course. Awesome greens.
My husband and I were joined by two locals, Brad, and Scott, who is one of the course marshals. They were supreme course ambassadors. We had such a fun day with them and we will definetly be back!
