Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Great course
I've played this course several times and it gets better each time. The greens were quick and well-maintained.
old faithful
top five public courses in valley. I have a 30 mile rule and this course is within 30 miles of my house. The Reserve @ Spanos, Empire Ranch, and any course in Lincoln is where I play
good time.
Staff was friendly.Burrito was good Company was excellent. Course had some challenges.
This course was in good condition
Played this course several times and found it to be in great condition. greens were rolling at a good clip. Fairways were in good condition. Overall great experience.
One of my favorite courses on Sacramento
The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about all of their equipment
2 inches of rain and still 90 degree rule
This course drains like no other. Great condition greens very nice fairways good shape after all the rain day before. Staff all members very nice people.
Course in excellent condition
December rain and January drought have made for great conditions. Everything is firm and fast (not insane). Nice that all the leaves have fallen so the course is very clean.
Golf on a cold day
It rained some but not bad.....cold but not freezing ....greens kinda fast but not lightning ....course is great just great!!!
nice layout
fairways and greens were in good shape. very little rough and bunkers needed care and waste bunkers were hard as rocks but it's winter and it's been cold and damp. still worth playing. nice layout, wide fairways, greens are fast and challenging.
Nice course, always interesting
The variety of holes at Teal Bend always makes for an interesting day of golf. I particularly enjoy the " Combo" tees where players use Whites on some of the longer holes and blues on the rest. This provides a fair challenge without eliminating the character of the course. We enjoyed the 60 degree temp. The Marshal tried to keep the pace moving . we finished in just over 4 hours. Greens were rolling nicely, too. Fun.
Value
Teal Bend really is one of Sacramento's best Values for both course quality and cost to play. With wide fairways and true greens both beginners and more accomplished golfers will enjoy their time on the course. Pace of play can be a challenge during peak playing periods and be prepared for 'jet engine' blasts as Sac International Airport parallels several fairways and greens.
Teal Bend Golf Club
Teal Bend is a challenging but forgiving course. There is always trouble to the Right and Left, but the fairways are nice and wide! I think the thing I like about this course is, par is reachable for an ok player like me. I average around An 85-88 out here and that suits me just fine. This is just a fun place to play, my favorite in the Sacramento area!
hit or miss
I title my review based on the fact that this course has two faces.I don't think I would ever recommend playing this course on a weekend. There are no marshals to be seen anywhere and play, in my experience, can be very slow. That was my experience last Sunday. Which, led me to quit after 9 holes which would have likely been pushing a six hour round of golf.
that being said, I have also played here on weekdays and had no problem with pace of play. Of course, still no marshals, but less players.
the condition of the course is OK. But, there are courses that are in much better shape
good
We played 18 in about 3 and a half hours and the course is in good condition.
Sunday afternoon
Teed off at 1 pm and the pace was kind of slow. Had a couple twosomes in front of us that were slowing down our group of 3. Played the last 2 holes in pretty much darkness.
Course was in pretty good shape. The tee boxes looked like they had newly been reseeded. There wasnt a lot of sand in the traps and very hard underneath the little bit of sand. Fairways were in great shape as were the greens. Very challenging pin placements that day.
Was a pretty good day on the Course overall though. Always enjoy playing Teal Bend due to the challenging holes.
Nice little course, overbooked though
This is a fun course but they way iver booked and had to merge with a 4 some in front if us making 6... Couldnt finsh an afternoon 18 and three groups behind us. Very poor booking policy!
Teal still among the best...
Greens were excellent as was the overall condition of the course. Have been playing here for 12+ years and it is as good as it ever has been!
good experience
The course was generally in very good shap . The exception was the greens were a bit slow and bump .
I'll be back!
As a first-timer at TB I really enjoyed the course. We played with two guys who knew it well and provided valuable tips and direction. It was extremely windy the day we played which made it even more challenging but also great fun. I found the course to be in really good condition especially considering the drought. I loved the layout and the privacy it created hole-to-hole. This is a course I definitely plan to play on a regular basis. I'll be back!
