Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

No notice on greens
Booked on GN and there was no notice that greens were being aerated. At check in they provided a free bucket due to no notice, which was nice, but while at the range the sprinklers turned on getting us, all our gear and even the cart parked 40' away wet - not a great start to our round. Minus the greens, course was in good shape and fun to play. Didn't see the cart girl until on the green at 17 despite being a hot morning. I'll be back, just not so early that hit with the sprinklers while warming up...hopefully.
Punched greens
We purchased a 52.00 deal and there was no mention that the course had recently had the greens punched and sanded... tee to green was good, but the greens were in terrible shape.. We had played the course before and never had an issue... when it was mentioned to us that they had been punched.. it was more, oh well... putt the ball harder.. green conditions should have been noted on the purchase page.. we would have paased on this deal because it was too much for the course conditions..
Beautiful, Natural Course
Teal Bend is overflowing with natural beauty. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are all in excellent shape. There are loads of amazing birds and abundant wildlife to keep the round interesting. We had to pause our tee shots while a ten point buck worked his way across the fairway. There is also plenty of water, as well as bunkers placed in strategic places. This is a course that demands target golf.
A real gem
Best course I have played in 5 years. Each hole unique . Conditions fantastic. Reminded me of playing in South. Completely away from the City. Near the Sacramento River. Would be great reason to move to the area. Very tranquil.
One of my favorite Sacramento area courses.
The course is in great shape. Many holes require well placed tee shots to score well.
very conforable
Had a excellent time. Was a bite warm (98) but there was lots of water.
Too hot for golf but this course is way cool!
It was 104 degrees yesterday but the course with its many trees provided nice shade throughout the course. Course condition were great and greens rolled nicely. Only compliant...we are in a drought and some of the fairways are muddy. These areas are usually near the greens. Otherwise, our threesome moved along nicely on a very nice course. Teal Bend is one of the best tracks in the Sacramento area.
Keeps getting better
Played Teal at 7:00 AM on July 4th expecting it to be slow and crowded. Although there were plenty of people on the course, it seemed to be moving very well. I like this course better each time I play it. The difficulties in the design are subtle - it seems like a standard flat, straight course but the bunkers are well positioned, the greens are in great shape and fast, so there are certain places you just do NOT want to hit to or it's a guaranteed bogey or worse. Excellent round of golf and I expect to keep coming back.
Hot day. great round
good pace of play great round, hot day but stillfun.
Close to Airport
This is a great course to play near the SAC airport. Easy in and out and perfect for just about any event.
Nice layout
Course in great shape, staff friendly, I will keep coming back.
Great course
Great course in very good shape. I just wish the driving range was as good as the course, as people were hitting off hard dirt. This seems to never change at this course. Please invest in some mats for a better driving range!
Treasure by the River
Teal Bend is a great course. Holes fold back and forth on each other but the heavy tree lines make you feel like you a all by yourself! Rolling fairways and undulating greens make accuracy a priority. Several large & long sand bunkers that can add strokes. I HATE the 17th: 200+ carry over water from the tee to a narrow fairway!! AAAAGH. Was very wet everywhere which made it green and lush. Great practice range. Great food. Only negative was the 5 some my 3 some found on the 4th hole. Took the marshal to allow us to get past them.
Afternoon Round @Teal Bend
The course was in great shape and the greens were excellent and "fast." My last round at this course was October 2012, and I must say the course was in super shape ( as previously stated). If you want a nice round of golf at a "great" course, visit Teal Bend !! You will be "pleased as punch."
Had fun on a good course
I arrived at the course and found that they just got done with a large tournament. I was expecting for them to be running late but I got our for my 2:30 tee time on time. Overall the course was in great condition. Tee boxes were level with no large bare spots. The fairways were pretty much green despite the drought. The greens were rolling well. The only gripe was that the players from the tournament must not know how to fix a ball mark since I was fixing 4-5 new ballmarks on virtually every green. Too bad. I look forward to playing here again soon.
Fair test
Very good layout. Lots of wildlife to see while you play. Fairways and greens in great shape.
Go play!
Sacramento Hidden Gem
I have played at Teal Bend numerous times this year and have to say that this is a great course to play on. The greens are fast, staff is very friendly and the holes are challenging for every golfer. I think it is a great course for people who play from the gold tees. It doesn't get backed up like some of the other courses that are near by. Love seeing the Marshall ride around. Great job Teal Bend!
Great track
Course was in excellent condition. Played in less than 4 hours I liked the tee choices for all levels of golfers
Will play it again
My first time out to Teal Bend with hubby (who has played it before). I'm working to improve my game and this was a good place for me to play. Can't wait to play again!
Oh, and I bogeyed the hardest hole on the course! That was exciting!
Value for your money..
I played Teal Bend not quite knowing what to expect. After driving up to the facilities and having a staff member meet me at the parking lot prior to getting out I was slightly impressed. The customer service was great. The course was absolutely great and the greens were immaculate!
Thanks for coming out to play. We strive to deliver the ultimate in customer service and appreciate you taking the time to share you experience. Come see us again soon!
