Teal Bend Golf Club
About
Teal Bend Golf Club runs alongside the Sacramento River, enjoying a lush landscape covered in natural wetlands. One of the characteristics the course is known for is its stunning scenery, which works against the challenging layout by being almost too distracting. All of your attention will have to be focused on successfully maneuvering past the mature trees and natural rough areas that sit along the edges of the undulating greens and narrow, winding fairways. Long hitters will enjoy this golf course, which stretches to 7,000 yards from the back tees. There are also some interesting risk/reward holes that will appeal to both low and high handicappers, which is why it is one of Sacramento's most popular public courses. The well maintained driving range is also a popular feature at Teal Bend Golf Club.

Teal is Fun
Very fun course. I just wish the greens were in better shape. It appears to me that nobody except the 2 of us ever repair ball marks. The rest of the course was Fun and very enjoyable
This course is in a great location and in great condition.
Well maintained fairways and rough. Most tee boxes were even and maintained. Some greens had ball marks that weren't fixed, wish all golfers would be more concerned and fix their ball marks. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Great value with GolfNow
We played this course after coming home from a golf weekend in Los Angeles. While this course was not nearly as lush and well maintained as the resort we played in LA, this course was great for what it is. The greens were in excellent condition, rolling fast and true. The fairways were very good, but a little dry, due to very limited rainfall this past winter, I'd guess. Bunkers are little better than hard pan, which makes it easy to chip out.
The only major negatives are lack of on-cart GPS, ball and club washers, and ice chests. I'm getting spoiled by other area courses that offer these amenities.
Good lay-out
Always enjoy playing this course. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Spring Conditions
Teal Bend is always a challenging course. Par 3s play long so be prepared with long irons, hybrid, or even a wood.
Warm spring conditions mixed with a north wind create speedy greens. With the pending drought in nor-cal, be prepared for dry conditions.
Staff and pro-shop always kind and courteous.

This course has lost its luster
Teal Bend was not in good condition today. While I understand that greens need to be punched, there isn't an excuse on greens being as poor as they were even if they were punched. The fairways were full of weeds and the traps were like concrete. The driving range isn't very good although it is grass.
Beautiful weather nive course
Would have been a lot better if the greens where good.. Aeration so late in the spring don't understand why
No great
I have played teal bend a couple times before. Looked forward to a nice round on a beautiful day today. The course was a little bit cow pasteury.
Greens had been punched about 5 days ago. Very upset that the greens situation was noted on golf now when I made reservation. I would not have played
There if I had know that upfront!!! Round moved very quickly but that was because nobody was playing there because of the greens.
All in all, I was very disappointed.
Great value with aerated greens
The value was great! We received a sleeve of Pro V1/ V1x with our round. The greens were just aerated this past Wednesday and were accordingly slow. The rest of the course is in great shape. We played an early Saturday round (7:50AM) and were finished by 11:20AM! he cheeseburgers at the grill were fantastic after our round.
For $60 maintain the bunkers
Played course many times, like it. Its a gorgeous setting, wild and river-ine in feel. Its challenging due to being tight, with lots of hazard, and somewhat slope-y greens. Not a lot of room behind a lot of the greens, too.
This last time had a couple of really bad bunkers--hardpan with very little sand on top. Example: front side bunker on 17. It impossible to hit an actual sand shot out of it. I feel like for $60 there are better values.
Love the course layout, greens were true, friendly staff, and would definitely recommend to friends,
This was my second time playing this course and enjoyed every minute of it, as the first time. The fairways are in great shape and greens are true and well maintaned. The staff in the pro shop is always cordial and welcoming. I highly recommend this course to golfers at any level of play.
Great walk along the river bottom
Weather was great, pace of play exception and the course was in good shape. Greens were tricky and were the main reason for our rather poor scores.
very nice
Teal Bend was very nice and enjoyable pace of play for a weekend not bad greens were tricky but fun will be back soon.
Teal Bend - Water and Mistletoe
Played on Sunday Mar 9th.
Greens were really good.
Pace of play was real good.
Fairways were in between winter and spring with lots dormant grass. Lack of water was apparent.
I'm very concerned with the infestation of mistletoe in the trees. Lots of dying trees that use to be a great back drop surrounding the greens.
19th Hole restaurant Closed on Mondays & Tuesdays
Went to 19th hole after round only to find out it was closed. Pace of play was okay. Rained day before, drained better than most in Sacramento
Teal Bend
Always a pleasant course, especially when not crowded. Greens are always a bit fast and tricky.
Teal Bend
Very nice course, but tough from the tips. It is long, but fair. I played on a day after they received a lot of rain, so I am sure it played longer than normal. Unfortunately, a few of the bunkers did not drain well. The tees, fairways, and greens all seemed to be in pretty good shape though. Definitely worthwhile playing.
