The Trails of Frisco Golf Club
About
The Trails of Frisco golf course is one of Jeff Brauer’s most unique designs -- primarily because it doesn’t fit the mold of his other courses. Brauer, who’s known for his open, straight-forward courses, designed this one to tip out to a par 71, 6,900 yards, loaded it with hidden creeks, scenic wetlands, extensive bunkering, and massive greens. In fact, first-timers will be confused here. They’ll face intimidating views off the tee that leave doubt as to the problems that loom ahead, and it is definitely possible to lose all of your balls off the tee if you’re struggling.
The golf course is just flat-out challenging, especially on the front nine. No. 1 opens up with a creek on the left that cuts in front of the green and generally makes its presence known on every shot. The play here is to stay right and stay away from its subtle presence on the left side. The creek comes into play on Nos. 2, 4, 5, and even No. 9, where it chutes from the fairway in front of the green and surrounds the green of this challenging par 4.
All told, water and waste areas are in play on 16 of 18 holes (including every par 3), and the creeks are enhanced by visible lakes and ponds on the back side, even though it is considered a bit easier than the front.

Excellent course
Challenging and fun course to play. Driving range has limited space so it may be crowded. Overall the staff was amazing and top notch
Trails of Frisco
Fun course played. Not to difficult but some very challenging holes with tree placements. Played here many times before and will play again
July 4th round
With a 9a tee time it warmed up quick. Course is I n good shape but sand traps are terrible. Greens are nice. Hold shots plus fast… good time
Great experience
Played on Father’s Day. Was hot but the course was great. They made me aware of a few bunkers being worked on before the round. I had forgotten how good of a challenge it was. Had a really good overall experience. I will definitely be back again.
Awesome round of golf
This course was in great shape and the greens were quick but not too quick. Challenging course for sure, have to pick your spots. Super nice staff - all in a good mood and made my group feel welcome.
Poor sand traps
For the condition the sand traps were in the course is too expensive… Some of them were just mud traps.
Slow Pace
A hand full of opportunities
1) It was 100 Degree and no cart person driving around 2) The sand bunkers were terrible; no sand totally dried up
3) The greens were dried; so putting a challenge
4) Extremely slow pace; 5 hours for 18 holes is unacceptable. Especially during the Dallas Heat/summer
Coming Back Around
Much better than 2-3 months ago. Bunkers still need a lot of help but the greens, tee boxes and fairways were much better. A little bit of scarring from the poana but the greens were much much better than several months ago. A little fuzzy and slow but playable
Swamp. Shouldn’t have been allowed to play. Standing water in fairways. Impossible
Senior Difficulty
There were several long holes which are unfair for older golfers who cannot drive over 200 yards. Need to have a senior tee between white and red. Especially true about 400+ yard par 4's and 280 yard par 3's.
Improving conditions
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
Tee boxes and sand traps need some help.
Lots of burned out grass on the tees made for limited choices for tee off locations. Sand was nonexistent in the traps. Essentially the sand traps were sort of groomed dirt.
Still an interesting layout with a premium on distance control, particularly on the holes requiring layups to hazards that cross the fairways.
