The Trails of Frisco Golf Club

This course is all about club selection from tee to green. If your playing this course for the first time, plan on losing a few balls in the meandering creek.

This course has some very interesting golf holes. #1 is a par 5 "welcome to our course" gentle handshake.

#2 is the first of some counter-intuative holes - don't hit your driver into the creek. Most players I know lay up, but a big hitter can drive over it. (I think)

#4 is a dogleg right with creek fronting the green - don't be to greedy or you may drive the creek.

#7 is big trouble on the left - hit out to the right off the tee.

#9 is another hole with drivable trouble at the end of the fairway. The green is accessable only from the air. I still don't know how to play this hole.

#14 is a par 3 forced carry over no man's land - pick your tee carefully.

#17 has plenty of trouble at the end of the fairway - hit it down the left hand side foe best shot into the green.

#18 is all about the right to left slope of the fairway. Drive and 2nd shot up the right hand side of the fairway or your ball will roll into the creek.

I rate this as a wonderfully designed course by local Golf Course Architect Jeff Brauer.

Trails of Frisco GC was excellent! A beautiful day, and the greens were probably 12+ stimp! Which I really enjoy! Fast and true!

A very nice and challenging course with a lot of water and sand traps with narrow fairways. Had a great time on the course with a very friendly and courteous staff.

The course is in very fine shape. Unfortunately we were rained out. The staff graciously gave us rain checks. Will definitely go back.

Course was in fantastic shape. Greens were quick and receptive. Ball would stop, couldn't get them to spin back. Couldn't be the ball striking, had to be the greens!? Nice track, makes you think and use your entire bag. Stay below the pin!

Course was in good shape, staff was friendly (as always), and pace of play was good. Good time of year to actually get a four hour round in...

The course was in good shape and was challenging with forced carries and lots of water on the back nine. Only draw back was the pace of play on front nine was 2 hrs 15 min. , but the back nine was terribly slow at 3 hours!!! We waited on every hole on the back nine.The marshall sure didn't care as he never stopped and spoke to the group in front of us. I would go back and play just because it was a challenging course.

We were playing as a threesome and all totally enjoyed this sometimes challenging course. Hadn't played here in a long time so it was as if for the first time. Great course!

Course was in excellent condition as usual. I've played here multiple times but every time I come out they have moved tees to make the holes play totally different. A few very long par 4's that require a tough second shot. All in all great course for the rate you pay.

The course was in great shape. I was paired up with a 3-some and it was a blast. Pace of play was wonderful. The staff inside and out were excellent. I really had a great day at the course. Challenging yet relaxing. It is definitely not a driver every hole course so some decisions will need to be made, but get out enjoy the atmosphere and the great opportunity to play this course, you'll love it!

Fairways are in great shape, greens are in good shape. I like this golf course, is challenging, and if you mishit you are taking a penalty for sure. I think the only thing they need to improve is the sand traps, is not bad, but could be better.

I played on a hot Summer afternoon and the course was still very responsive. The grass was green and the greens were soft. They had just punched the greens so some putts were bumpy but that is to be expected. The course layout is great but it is very challenging. You don't have much margin for error and if you miss the fairway on some holes don't even bother looking for your ball. Overall this is a great course but its not for a beginner golfer. I would recommend this course to most intermediate to advance golfer for a fun weekend round.

I would give it a five-star but they have just aerated the greens. This is a awesome course ,it is a pga caliber type course if you can't place your shots there is a lot of big scores available. You may want to bring a lot of balls because there is alot of hazards and out of bounds lurking. The fairways was in great shape, also bring a rangefinder hard to find distances in some areas. Booked on golfnow on a weekday and got a excellent price. This is a course you would love to play.

We entered the pro shop where Paul was behind the desk. I can not say he greeted us as he only words were very short and to the point. He needs to learn to say "Welcome, to smile, and if nothing else pretend to enjoy his job and the people who pay his salary (which is all of us who golf there)" He said he had only been working there since May and I told him he needed to find a different place to work. The pace of play was sooooo slow. The marshal out on the course was more interested in finding golf balls than speeding up the really slow players. Once we got done golfing we decided to go into the bar/restaurant to cool off as the heart was 101 outside and a cold beverage and room would of been nice. It was very warm in there. The staff even had a large fan on them. If the owner would select better people and drop the air down so his employees and customers would enjoy it there this place might be worth us trying it again. However I don't believe we will ever be back thanks to Paul and his unfriendly attitude .

I had not played this course in years, but about 6 weeks ago, went and played and have now logged about 4 rounds in that time. From the tips it is challenging and fun and would recommend it. I believe their marshall are good and try to keep pace of play up, which these days is unusual for public and private courses. My issue is that playing yesterday, I learned after we paid and were on #1 green that they had recently punched and were about 50% healed. I believe courses; including this one should let their players know about any work, closed greens or tee boxes prior to booking. I will be back, but I will have to ask how the course is before committing to a tee time or; I guess even teeing off.
