Frisco Lakes Golf Club is a part of the Del Webb Frisco Lakes Community, just north of Dallas. The front nine of the course is interwoven with the community itself while the back nine sprawls across open countryside. The five sets of tees range from just over 5,000 yards to just over 7,000 yards, allowing the golf course to be played as a leisurely round or a formidable test. The challenging, well maintained greens are the course's most memorable feature. Golfers should be prepared for a back-to-back peninsula green and island green on the seventh and eighth holes. The 14th is another tough water hole that runs alongside Lake Lewisville. Water is not the only hazard at Frisco Lakes Golf Club though, there are also plenty of strategically placed bunkers throughout.

Excellent greens!

Really well maintained course. 5 different tee boxes make the course play as short as 5100 or as long as 7100. Fluffy sand, and island green, driveable par 4 and lots of rolling hills makes for a fun and interesting round. Greens are fantastic!

Hot and Bothered

Set lakeside I was hoping for a beatific day of golf but that is not what I got. The biggest issue was the staff. They were surly when they should have been much more contrite. 1) They ran out of range balls. I've never been to a golf course with a range run out of range balls. The machine wasn't broken; they just didn't have anyone willing to go out and get them. 2) It was a blistering hot day (over 100 degrees) and they only had TWO water station for all 18 holes and both were EMPTY. Only two water stations borders on negligent. 3) One of the golfers shanked a ball and hit the fence of house next to the fairway. The owner made a snide comment. NEWSFLASH: when you live on a golf course the question is not IF your house is gonna get hit with a golf ball, it WHEN.
The positives: the greens were outstanding! With the drought in CA, it had been months since I had seen grass so green!.The fairways were nice and wide which made it easier. They did have several forced carries over water which made it tough. The course is lakeside so it's very pretty. The beverage cart and 19th hole staff were nice.

Great place for a friendly game

Nice course, always in pretty good shape.
Bunkers need better attention
Greens rolled great however slow based on the summer heat. Once it cools off and they can cut the greens tight one of my favorite places.
Great place to take mid/high handicappers and yet visually interesting for good players.

Great Value, Good shape

This course has a lot going for it. They keep it in good shape and my favorite feature is the layout. A lot of fun holes, not too difficult but make you play strategic. Only bad thing was no beverage cart on a FRIDAY and no warning of that from staff.

Nice

The course is challenging and well maintained. Holes 7, 8, 9 and 18 are more challenging for beginner and intermediate golfers, but it adds to the excitement of the game. Beautiful.

Nice course

Greens had just been punched but still rolled nice. Course in really great shape, one of the nicer courses in the area. Grounds maintenance was all over the course and didn't care to respect players. On the back nine we literally had grounds crew follow us and weed eat while we were on the tee boxes and greens. Other than that, it was one of the best courses I've played in awhile.

Frisco Lakes

We played here on 7/3/2015, but i mistakenly booked the time for 7/1/2015. They were more than accommodating for us and fit us in. The rain did bother us for about 6 holes, but once it cleared up it was fine. We did run into a foursome on about hole 13 and they were very slow, but its all good because a slow round of gold beats a good day at work any day!

I would recommend this course! Very nice course for the money!

Verticutting / workers indifference to players

Very disappointed with round today. Drove all the way from Sachse, Tx over to Frisco to play on my son's birthday ... Arrived and standing in the first fairway I look to the green and see workers verticutting and blowing the green,,, they were oblivious to us as paying customers and my son had to run up to the green and tell them to at least put the flag back in the hold so we could finish the hole. Continued play on the 2, 3rd, 4th and 5th holes experiencing the same treatment or non recognition from the workers. I then called the pro-shop and a young man apologized and informed us that we could jump forward and get ahead of the mowers and that he wasn't even aware that verticutting was happening until an hour or so ago. Driving forward we met the marshall and he inquired as to why we were not informed to start on the back nine in the pro shop ... told him that I assumed that the pro shop personnel were not informed to start all golfers on the back nine. We finally drove up and worked our way into the back nine... finished that nine and left without completing our round. Never once did an official or manager offer an explanation or apologize for our inconvenience. My son and I play many courses throughout the metroplex and had heard from many other players that Frisco Lakes was a gem and that we would certainly enjoy our golf experience ... I can't say that I won't return but certainly expected a more professional handling of our situation this past afternoon.

Greens

The greens had small grooves possibly from mower malfunction or maybe punched greens growing back. It did have a slight effect on putting

Rude staff, no beverage cart

2 visits in a row, there is no beverage cart. Apparently beverage service isn't needed when it's a 105 degrees and the course is packed. I assume because all the people who live there bring coolers and don't buy anything from the beverage cart. Staff from pro shop to the bar was rude, uninterested and distracted. Course is average for the money. Wide open, greens were punched, cheese grated and sanded so they were slow, bumpy and rough.
