Sienna Plantation Golf Club
About
The Arthur Hills/Mike Dasher-designed Sienna Plantation is a flat, wooded course that has been enhanced to provide elevation changes. The result is a challenging track that rolls between lakes, creeks, and the native hardwoods that dominate the landscape.
In terms of playability, you'll primarily notice the abundance of risk-reward decisions that are required throughout the round on this course, which tips out at 7,151 yards.
Out of the chute you'll be challenged immediately-the opening two holes play as a 427-yard par 4 and a 601-yard par 5. It lightens up a bit on holes 3-4 with a reasonably short par 3 and a short par 4, but holes 5-8 can blow your score up quickly if you're not on your game. No. 6 is a monster 251-yard par 3 sandwiched between two 450-yard par 4s.
On the back it's more of the same, with the nine opening with four 400-yard plus par 4s. Both par 3s are over 200 yards, and the par 5s are each well over 500 yards. The only real birdie opportunity for the average handicapper is the 320-yard No. 16.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 59 south to the Williams Trace exit. Turn left on Williams Trace to Hwy. 6. Turn left and drive 5.5 miles to the Sienna Plantation main entrance. Turn right and follow the signs to the Information Center.

Horrible
Too bad the course looked like a course in a third world country. It is a nice layout, but the greens are horrible with weeds growing all over them. Putting is like playing pinball. I don't understand how a community allows such maintenance to an otherwise nice layout. Really sad and not worth what they are charging.
Beautiful Course
Very nice course. Good condition considering the lack of rain. Enjoyed the round.
Course is never in good condition
Greens are the worst. Grass is rather sparse but littered with crab grass. Ball cannot roll straight. Range is not managed - all torn up with divots.
Fun course
It's a challenging course but fun. Some tee boxes are dry—no beverage cart. Bar/Restaurant was closed during the day.
Worst conditioned course in Houston
Don’t play here. Greens like playing Plinko with so many weeds. Course in terrible shape. Pace of play is slow. Took nearly 3 hours to finish 9.
Marshals don’t care. To make matter worse it was in the 90s on a Saturday and no cart service the entire round.
On turn skipped hole just to get past groups to find open holes till we finally caught someone on 16.
Never again.
Easy course
The course were too dry today
The fairways are very wide and there are not many handicaps so it is an easy course for beginers
I did walked today
Has being very good golf day
This course is in BAD shape.
Very surprised to see this course in such a bad shape! Wild grass popping up all 18 greens. Not possible to putt on the greens at all. Don't waste time & money at this course.
Don't waste time & money at this course.
Greens
The greens are in terrible condition, which is unfortunate because it’s a nice course. They’re unplayable.
Dry and Hard
Not the fault of the course, as it hasn't rained in weeks, but it was like playing on a parking lot. Practically had to hammer tees into the boxes and forget that approach shot checking up on the greens. Every shot would roll for days.
What is wrong in Sienna?
The driving range is just a huge sand trap. No grass to hit off of with too much sand. The fairways are thin and the greens have so many weeds. The pace of play pushes 5 hours. I expected better for the price.
Great Track
First off the Staff in the club house was great and check in was easy. Course was in ok shape and track layout was fun. Could us a bit more water on Fairways as a few hard / dead areas. My groups biggest issues were the greens. All the greens were in very rough shape and putting was almost impossible on all but a few of them do to the tuffs of taller grass spotted throughout the green area. Of the $65 green fee it was not worth it to me because of the condition of the greens.
Some things bad, some worse.
I've played this course dozens of times. Never have I played with crab grass greens on the front nine (the back side was an improvement but still a mixed bag).
On some of the tee boxes, one needed a hammer or a drill to get a tee down.
AND PLEASE... clean the spouts of ALL of the drinking water barrels. They're filthy. One wonders about the inside of the barrels.
Needs Work
The greens are in bad shape and the fairways and tee boxes are very hard. It’s very difficult to place your tee due to the boxes being rock hard. The layout is nice but overall the course needs work. It’ll be a while before playing this course again.
Good but could be great
Everything about the course was really good, except the first 6-7 greens had weeds growing in them. That wasn’t the case for the rest of the holes, so I couldn’t give it a higher rating. It’s clear they are putting some money into the course, as the cart paths have been repaired in some places. Fairway, tee boxes, and rough area is really dry, so some water is needed soon…but if you put the ball in the fairway it will roll for days.
