The course has a COMPLETE make over. You gotta play it to see all they have done. AWSOME and its winter time. I can't imagine how beautiful this place is going to be in summer. I will find out.

Wide fairways, Good size greens.

It's been 15 yrs or so since it was last open to the public, when a buddy told me they had recently opened it up again. Reluctantly I decided to go based solely on the price, figuring it was going to be in awful shape. Butt long story short, I am glad I went. Course was in great shape even in late December. It was tough and challenging, but fun. By far the best greens in San Antonio. It was like putting on glass they were so true. Definitely going back and I highly recommend course.

Would like to play here at least once a month. Greens were large, rolled true and very large. Hit my longest drive of the year 311 yards on 13!

Maybe it is the time of the year, but course was not plush.

I was told they were redoing this course early last year and I finally was able to get out and play this course. Let me tell you what - they are doing a great job with the renovations! A couple of greens still need some work, but I tell you they are great and extremely fast! The fairways are open. The course is LONG! It was particularly long this day due to the wind. I enjoyed the course so much I became a member!

Simple put... The Golf Couse of Texas did not honor the Golf Now deal of the day tee time that I made. I had to pay regular price. The round was good because a round of golf supersedes bad customer service. Will I play there again maybe but will be when I have no other choice :-(

Course design allows for low handicap players to be challenged from the tips, higher handicaps will enjoy the forward tees. I love what they are trying to do with zoysia grass and the waste areas to conserve water. The forced carries on the short par 4 and long par 3 get the blood pumping . Your ball is teed up nicely when you're in the fairway with the new turf . Nice change of pace from Bermuda on most courses in the area . The greens need some work
However for $65 to $75 green fees they are WAY over priced what you can play in the area . I was a little put off that they offered a tourist a $30 rate but local $65 seems a little backwards . You can drive an extra 10 minutes and play Alsatian twice for the fee charged at golf club of Texas while getting a little better quality.
For $65-$75 you should play La Cantara , Quarry or Silver Horn. Wouldn't pay more than $40 to play here again.

This course is much improved after its recent
makeover. It will take a few years of continued
care to get it in to great shape. Until then I wouldn't
pay no more than $30.00 to play it.

First time to play this course and enjoyed the round. Course has an interesting lay out. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Course is very open, but no shade. The course is decent for the price point paid but will not play there again.

The course is starting to make a comeback after a renovation process, some areas still need work but it looks as they are making an effort. Greens had some problem issues. I would play it again but NOT at the rack rate they have.

A wide open course that is relatively easy. Not real scenic because of surrounding scrub land and numerous apartment complexes. A lot of the sodded fairways and surrounding areas are struggling from lack of moisture and there were many places where the sod has died. Seems a shame to spend that much on this course and not have the water necessary to ensure success of your sodding job. There are also numerous broken up areas of original cart paths. Maybe the coming rains will help this course. Time will tell.

Although I think the course has potential the current condition of the course is fair at best. The fairways were extremely dry to the point there were cracks opening up in the soil. A lot to the cart paths seemed damaged from the dry conditions. Hopefully the conditioning will improve soon.

Needs rain and some more fairway conditioning . Once landscape matures throughout the course that will be a course to reckon with .

Course needs rain like every where else. Still has some marks from where they worked on the course, but water will help seal those spots. I had never played there even before the renovations, and enjoyed my time there. I will go back and take friends, family with me.

Overpaid as GolfNow deal cost more than paying direct. Staff unwilling to help and told me to take it up with GolfNow. Renovations evident and course will grow in, but worth about half the money right now.

This is the second time I played course since reopening. The greens are much better and a lot faster. Will be perfect in a month or so. Even with no rain the course played great. Really a great choice using zoysia as the grass of choice. Playability is incredible. Staff was great and food was wonderfull. I will be joining the Tuesday night scramble for steak and golf. And considering joining the MGA as well. I will continue to frequent this course. A must in San Antonio.

I started playing this course about 8 years ago and have seen it at it's worst and its best. The renovations were long overdue. When we had the chance to go out and play the course again after the renovations, we were not disappointed. The changes were subtle (except for the mass removal of vegetation), but added a nice touch to the course.

So, we went back and played using the Player's Pass. This is really the only way this course is worth the money. Guys, $79 for this course is just out of control! (For $79, the beverage cart girls need to be wearing bikinis.)

Finally, please please please water this course before you lose it forever! Not sure how much money was pumped into this thing to resuscitate it from the cow pasture it turned into, but you're about to flatline!
