About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Country club cost for city course quality.
A handful of years ago I would have said it was a top course in the Austin area, but as of late it seems they care more about stacking people on top of each other than they do the quality of the course. The greens are a 50/50 shot at being decent or extremely poor, the tee boxes are all in rough shape no matter the time of year, and the carts are behind the curve for what is being produced by other courses in the area. The top tracer range is nice but it seemed their focus is being a version of top golf instead of a respectable course. The staff is semi friendly, recently we got rushed out to the tee after having no place to park in the lot and having to wait for a cart only to tee off 7 minutes after our tee time and having to play at a pace of play of 5 1/2 hours.

Really far too expensive for what you get...
The course Layout is very nice, but the management of the course and the fees make this course not a good value. They Nickle and Dime you for everything ($9 for a small bucket is EXCESSIVE). The bunkers are packed dirt, the tee boxes aren't level, and the pace of play is hideous (5 and a half hour rounds is excessive). I won't be going back.

Good overall but room to improve
Overall it was a good round. We had a good pace of play on Monday. The practice facilities are fine. The restaurant doesn't serve any hot food until about 10 AM which was a little disappointing for my early morning round. The course was mostly fine although some tee boxes are a little rough in places. Most of the greens are fine but a few of them have issues in places. This might just be maintenance that hasn't grown in yet. The golf carts did lack sand to repair the divots. The sand in the bunkers is fairly compact. The staff are very friendly. Some of the deepest rough is quite deep. I plan to play here again and regularly although I like playing a variety of courses just to keep it interesting.

Pretty Solid
First time at Teravista in about 6 years. Place was in pretty good shape but 2 or 3 greens were were really bad. They placed pins in spots where the issue wasn't a real concern, but it was noticeable. Sand was not great and tough to hit cleanly out of.
Fairways were in great shape and for 90% of the round, the entire course was very good. Just a few things to clean up.

Best course conditions ever
The rains in Texas for June and July have made Teravista green and lush. Only #12 green was affected by the February freeze and is being repaired gradually. However, all the other greens are in great shape. I’ve played here over 20 times in the past 10 years and can attest that the fairways are soft and gorgeous! The greens are soft and easily produce divots. Definitely the best conditions of any public course in the Austin area.

The course was in great shape, friendly staff and always willing to help. A couple of tee boxes need some help but overall a great experience.

Really far too expensive for what you get...
I was really disappointed in the course conditions today, the greens were bumpy and for some reason appear to still have the winter overseed in them, the bunkers were horrible, and the pace of play was lousy (5 hr round).
I don't plan on returning for some time, if ever.
