About
Despite its Hill Country setting, Teravista Golf Club has more of a links feel, with wide-open fairways and casually rolling mounds. About 60-70 white bunkers spot the layout, and water comes into play on 14 holes. No. 17 is the no. 1 handicap, playing a long 443 yards from the tips. The hole bends left toward a kidney-shaped green that is surrounded by three bunkers. Teravista G.C. offers a beginner-friendly tee box that plays only 3,744 yards, making it enjoyable for any skill level. The National Golf Course Owners Association has dubbed this 18-hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design a "Beginner Friendly Course."

Pace of Play is a joke
Pace of Play is a joke and not a starter in sight.
They started placing their tee times the past year or so, if it wasn’t so close I would never go back.

Too expensive driving range
$18 for medium size bucket of balls, no drinking water in the course

Course abusing the COVID situation
I booked a tee time including cart and when I got to the course 30 min early and the manager (who was manning the register) told me that I would have to share a cart with with a stranger, or I had to pay an extra $20. This wasn’t stated anywhere on the Golfnow site (not sure if it in on their website), but I think it’s abusive to do this in during COVID. Moreover, he told me that this other person had already checked in and taken the cart. I got to the 1st tee and didn’t see this person so I went back and he told me to wait back at the 1st tee... finally the other player gets there, and he’d been told the same thing! So now we had 2 players with no carts. Finally one cart was brought up for us to share. The pace of play was terrible (~5 hours), and ironically there’s no drinking water on the course — I’m assuming because it’s a “risk” because of the pandemic. Terrible customer service.

always a challenge
Great course. Love the layout, no 2 holes run side by side. From the tips to front tees theirs a challenge for all golfers. Really tests your game. It’s hard but fair.

Very slow pace of play
I dont normally write reviews but after our experience yesterday I felt that I should. Yesterday’s round was one of the worst experience I have had on a golf course in a while. We teed off at 3:12 and did not finish the front nine until after 6 pm. It took an hour and forty-five minutes to play the first three holes. It was so backed up there were three groups waiting on one tee box. When we finally got to number nine a marshal came by and we asked what was going on and he said there was nothing that could be done because there were over 300 golfers on the course yesterday. Obviously that means there were too many people on the course. We did not even attempted to start the back nine as there was no way we were going to come close to finishing and playing that slow just takes the fun out of golf. We will not be coming back to Teravista.

Slowest round ever
I like this course, but when I finally convinced my girlfriend to play, it too over 3 hours to play 9 holes. And when the Ranger finally driives by, he waves as he goes by as if its just another normal day on the park. The only person to offer an apology without being prompted was the kid who was cleaning the carts when he said "Sorry you're leaving early, I heard it was slow out there" We only played 11holes and left (so did the twosome in my group who I did not know) as it had been 3:45 minutes and there were 4 groups on the 12th hole (2 on the tee, one in the fairway and one on the green)

Extremely Slow
Course is in decent shape, but it took us over 5 hours to finish our round. Ridiculous.

Extremely slow play. My round was 5 plus hours. Need staff/marshall to do a much better job of encouraging faster play. Didn't see any staff/marshall at all during my round.

Barely grass covered fairways
The greens were in great condition however several fairways are extremely thin grass coverage.

Don't waste your money
Rock hard everywhere . Tons of bunkers none of which have sand. 5 hour minimum.
