The Links at Land's End
About
Although the Links at Land's End has a location that is seemingly remote, many golfers have deemed it worthy of the trek to Yantis. The challenging round is coupled with a scenic and secluded location along the banks of Lake Fork. You won't see much water on the early holes, which play among mature trees, but it has a prominent presence on the golf course starting with the fourth hole. It's a layout that demands accuracy with tall grass and trees lining the holes in addition to the water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. The stretch of holes from the sixth through the 12th is situated right on the lake, making you feel almost as though you're playing on an island. They offer the best views on the golf course. The Links at Land's End is a challenging but fair round that will appeal to players of all skill levels.

The Links at Land's End - excellent
Among the best public courses in East Texas. It is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive. The 3 of us traveled from different cities, McKinney, Rockwall, and Longview. The course condition was excellent and the layout offered a very challenging round. The fairways were over-seeded and well maintained. The greens rolled true, offered multiple shape variations, and included some lake front peninsula locations. Miss the green on these holes and you will need another ball. Lake views on many holes. The golf course frontage houses are on large lots, are located a good distance back from the fairways and greens, and do not pose a distraction for the golfer. The carts are equipped with GPS course plotting and green views. The course staff were friendly and accommodating.
GREAT EXPERIENCE
HAD AN AWESOME TIME AT AN AWESOME COURSE WITH AMAZING VIEWS OF THE LAKE AND NATURE..THE ONLY THING I COULD SAY BAD ABOUT THIS PLACE IS IT NEEDS MORE SIGNS TO ACTUALLY FIND IT...
Fun little course in rural TX
Played here on Presidents Day Weekend. Came up with 9 other guys and we stayed two nights in their lodge using a stay and play voucher. I have to say that the value was great for what we got. The lodge was everything you could need and was comfortable. The course was also in great shape for the middle of Feb. Greens ran true and were a good speed. Fairways were also overseeded. The layout was a little on the short side but was definitely fun. The par 5's were reachable if you were playing the right tees. There was also an extra par 3 on the back which added some fun. The closing stretch was also a good challenge from 15-18. There was also a lot of variety with the holes and some short challenging par 4's right on the water bringing the wind into play (8 and 9). All in all, I enjoyed the course and would come back especially for the same stay and play deal. Staff was also accommodating for our group. The cart ladies were also very regular on our rounds making it easy to get drinks and food. Local tip, drive a few miles off the property and eat at Bro's Cajun.
Beautiful day at the Lake
The course is in great shape for the time of year and the amount of rain over that past few days. Took advantage of a Saturday when most of the members did not want to play cart path only. Staff is fantastic - Susan is always wonderful at the pro shop with a smile and information to help you enjoy the round.
Renovation of the restaurant and bar area is in progress and nearing completion. The plans they have for a large bar area will make this the place to go in the Lake Fork area.
Nice course priced to high
Enjoy playing here because there aren't a lot of courses nearby. This is in a rural area and a lot of fixed income persons. Lower prices mean more rounds.
A bit spendy, but worth it.
I have a foursome that plays an annual golf trip. We typically go somewhere within a half day's drive of the DFW area. This year we headed east to Shreveport, and stopped at this course along the way. Many reviews complained of high fees and poor service, so we went with "moderate" expectations. We found the staff very friendly, both in the pro shop and in the food area. The course was in good condition. Greens rolled true, and the sand traps were recently re-done. Fortunately, I stayed out of them, but you could tell they were sandy, not hard packed. $79 is a bit high for me to spend on golf; however, the course layout is nice, we enjoyed the lake views and scenery. The pace was great, we were not rushed, nor did we have to wait on groups. Lastly, a cart girl was swinging by about every 4-5 holes, so that was nice.
It's like a ugly ex girlfriend
This place had been a favorite for our group to stay and play for a while (7 total stays in the past 4 years).
In the spring we noticed a much colder reception from the staff and were even told the course was "getting away from stay and play packages to focus on the locals". The cost has gone up a little each time. Our most recent attempt to book was met with a huge price hike and continued cold reception from the pro shop.
This place is no longer worth it. The course was average-to-above average, but not something to drive 2 hours from DFW to play. The ONLY thing that kept us coming back was the friendly service and lodge for hanging out after the round with the group. The friendly service is gone and the lodge is getting expensive while they are allowing it to fall apart. The course continues to deteriorate as well.
Instead of this now over-priced, out-of-the-way place we are going onto Airbnb to rent a house and then play multiple courses around the rental. This way we get the "lodge" but are then not stuck with one course. We also aren't stuck 35-45 minutes from a decent dinner like being out at Lake Fork.
Three or four years ago I would have rated this place a 5 and over-looked the lack luster location. Now it's not close with the more than double fee, course maintenance issues, lodge getting old with no updates or maintenance, and staff that told our group they didn't focus on us.
Great local course
Staff was awesome. Course condition was really nice even with aerated greens . We played as a twosome and we plyed through a couple groups. The only complaint was the 4some we come up to and they didn't even know etiquette. The groups the let's us play through caught us.
Too pricey too slow
Have played this course many times in the past but did not know that It had sold. Also did not know the price had gone up so high for this type course and location. There is still no Marshall's for the course and many of the members will not allow you to play through they just look at you and continue to tell jokes, hit 2 balls and play slow. The group in front of us refused to let us through so we went around them and up and of course they gave us the evil eye evil acting like children. Course conditions were very very good the rains have really helped the fairways. There's also been a lot of work done here to improve the course. Won't be playing here again unless I happen to get a special our other kind of discount. Some of the staff explained to us that the new owners just want to place to play so they don't have to wait on teetimes or people. I believe it.
Always a favorite, getting too pricey
Great condition as always and one of my favorite courses. However, the rates have gone up effective May 1st and the value is dropping. $79 for a weekend rate is pretty steep for this area, probably the highest public rate in East Texas. We played the next day at Twin Lakes in Canton for $55, which is a steal compared to this. I will still play here but sparingly because I think $80 is a little too proud of itself.
Always a favorite, getting too pricey
This course is 45 minutes from me and is one of my favorites. However, with new ownership, the new green fees are a little steep. We played last Saturday morning and paid $80 a piece. Definitely one of the most expensive public courses in this area. Probably because of that, the course was not busy at all on a holiday weekend.
Great condition. Greens were awesome and fast, but can't justify $80 except on rare occasions.
We played Twin Lakes in Canton the next day for $50. Much better value.
Great course
Course was in great shape really enjoyed playing the links again!!
Love this course
Love this course, wish the turn was at the club house, but there is a decent restroom close to hole 9 and 10 so that's not really a problem and there is a beverage cart that comes around often. As well as water on the course. The course is so scenic, around the lake, it's beautiful. and the condition has been great every time we've played there which is all year round. Great practice facility right at the clubhouse, and on the way to the first tee so there is no driving off somewhere to practice, you can be practicing and then go straight to the tee box. Clubhouse with pro shop and grill is really nice, food great too.
One of the better courses in east Tx
Great challenging course on the lake. Windy days into some the holes out on the point will make you earn a good approach shot. Be ready to use every club in your bag.
Great Course
It was a very solid course! The greens where a little to fast for me and the group of guys I was playing with but over all it was a very nice course and I will definitely be back to play again.
Great course
Hidden Jewel. Hour drive from Dallas is well worth the trip. Course is always in great shape manicured fairways and greens.
Hot time
It was hot but pace was good for weekend play and course was in awesome condition. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants a nice day on the lake and the links.
Great course, slow play
We teed off at 9:15 and finished at 2:45. We waited on every shot starting on hole number 7.
This is a great course and I have played here several times. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
The course was too wet, and it hasn't rained here in more than a month. It is really hot here, and it is great that they are watering, but you shouldn't have to clean and place your ball on most holes.
I would recommend this course to anyone. It is a great layout. I will be back.
Great Value
One of the better courses around, and you can't beat the price after 5:00.
