About
Hutto’s been put on the golf map now that the first-class Star Ranch has opened up on what was once a cattle ranch, boasting a unique collaborative effort from the Morrish brothers (Jay and Carter) and the Bechtol, Russell design firm.
The course sits on a hill and is built around a centralized lake, featuring the typical spectacular Hill Country topography highlighted by plush, undulating fairways and bleached white sand bunkers.
No. 2 is one of the most difficult holes and the first real challenge of your golf day. The 417-yard par 4 has more of an open feel than some of the other holes, but it’s length generally means a rather long approach, and the green is surrounded by several massive bunkers.
Getting there : From Austin, take I-35 north and exit Parmer Ln. Turn right and go east on Parmer to Dessau Rd. Turn left and go north on Dessau, which becomes FM 685. Go 5 miles past FM 1825 in Pflugerville and the club is on the left.

Def a legit 5 star public course...go will you not be disappointed in any way with the course. For the price as well you can’t beat it.

Great Shape
Everything was great except a slow 4-some four holes ahead of us. At least the marshal came by and said he told them to speed up. That helped somewhat, so appreciate the course trying to keep pace of play up.
Great putting experience
In addition to the excellent condition of the golf course in general, the greens were supurb. I could not blame my 3-putts on the condition of the greens. The course had some beautiful holes, was challenging but fair, and if you hit it well you can score. You should anticipate the waterfalls on # 15!
Very Nice Conditions
Course is in great shape and ideal weather yesterday.
We were a 3 some so some waiting to be expected but pace of play was good compared to other times when we only had 3 players.
Great course
Overall the course and facilities were great. A lot of courses in the area want to charge a similar price but are in terrible shape. Layout was fun and course was challenging but not too difficult for amateur golfers playing the white tees

Course was in great shape. They should add some more yardage markers, especially for 100 yds.
