About
Hutto’s been put on the golf map now that the first-class Star Ranch has opened up on what was once a cattle ranch, boasting a unique collaborative effort from the Morrish brothers (Jay and Carter) and the Bechtol, Russell design firm.
The course sits on a hill and is built around a centralized lake, featuring the typical spectacular Hill Country topography highlighted by plush, undulating fairways and bleached white sand bunkers.
No. 2 is one of the most difficult holes and the first real challenge of your golf day. The 417-yard par 4 has more of an open feel than some of the other holes, but it’s length generally means a rather long approach, and the green is surrounded by several massive bunkers.
Getting there : From Austin, take I-35 north and exit Parmer Ln. Turn right and go east on Parmer to Dessau Rd. Turn left and go north on Dessau, which becomes FM 685. Go 5 miles past FM 1825 in Pflugerville and the club is on the left.

It was 85 today and no water on the course. You can’t take a cooler and no water!
Course is in PHENOMENAL condition
I haven’t played here in at least 5 years but the course is easily in the best condition I’ve ever seen. Everyone was so friendly, the started DJ is one of a kind pleasure to meet. We played in exactly 4 hours (fastest round I’ve played in months) and it was perfect. Whatever they are doing at Star Ranch is working, I’m sad I haven’t been out in so long.
Very Nice Condition
Enjoyed the course. Very good conditions and various tee boxes make it fair but challenging for all handicaps.
A few water holes but mostly open with traps the guard most greens to keep you honest. Pace of play was OK but should be better because most golfers should keep ball in play.
Exceptional course
This is probalby one ofthe best courses in central Texas. The course conditions aree immaculate. Fairwayd are lush, the bunkers are in excellents condition, and the greens are quick and true. Would definielty recommend thos course to all levels of play.

Good round on a perfect day
The course is in excellent shape, especially the greens for this time of year. Pace of play was very slow, partially due to Star Ranch allowing a five-some to play ahead of us. Sorry, but this should never be allowed on any course!
They book tee times 4 minutes apart
The marshal was clueless and will encourage you to play into other people. They book groups 4 min apart. The first two times I played here I witnessed fights between different groups because of this and saw it again today. I will never play here again and recommend you don’t either. Great course, terrible service and wannabe pros/blow-hards that play here.
Love this course
Star Ranch never disappoints. The practice area there is nice (several putting greens, a chipping area with bunker, long range). Range balls are included in green fees, so I feel like I'm warmed up by the time I get to the first tee. The course is in really good shape; a shot in the fairway means a good lie. In the dry conditions of central Texas, this is not true for all courses in the area. I will play this course as often as I can.

Very windy day, so turned a somewhat easy course into a more difficult venture Greens in nice shape and fairways are pretty good for early March, especially considering the bad weather a couple weeks ago.
