About

Holes 18

Par 71
Length 7017 yards
Slope 130
Rating 73.5

Hutto’s been put on the golf map now that the first-class Star Ranch has opened up on what was once a cattle ranch, boasting a unique collaborative effort from the Morrish brothers (Jay and Carter) and the Bechtol, Russell design firm.

The course sits on a hill and is built around a centralized lake, featuring the typical spectacular Hill Country topography highlighted by plush, undulating fairways and bleached white sand bunkers.

No. 2 is one of the most difficult holes and the first real challenge of your golf day. The 417-yard par 4 has more of an open feel than some of the other holes, but it’s length generally means a rather long approach, and the green is surrounded by several massive bunkers.

Getting there : From Austin, take I-35 north and exit Parmer Ln. Turn right and go east on Parmer to Dessau Rd. Turn left and go north on Dessau, which becomes FM 685. Go 5 miles past FM 1825 in Pflugerville and the club is on the left.

Great course!

Highly manicured overall with very nice “green” greens… not burnt like many others in the area. People very friendly… we were a 5-some with some new golfers and let 4 groups play through we were the slowest group in the course so pace was great. We enjoyed it, great course…. Great job Star ranch crew!

Greens slow due to recent maintenance, overall in good shape, awesome pace of play

Greens were really slow which Ranch is not known for which sucked but it was due to recent maintenance last week. I assume they should be back to fast pace in a few weeks. Rest of the course in good shape as always.

Pace of play was amazing, 4some finished in a little over 3 hours and the course was busy. Ranch always does a good job at keeping the pace moving and staying at or under 4 hours, wish other courses would do this.

Well kept, relatively easier course

Star Ranch is a great course with large fairways, well placed bunkers, a great layout and a few signature holes.

My Favorite Course

I’ve played almost everywhere in Northeast Austin and Star Ranch is the best. Beautiful course with a relatively easy layout. Course conditions are always prime as they shut down the course once a week for watering and maintenance. Practice facilities are top notch and staff is friendly except for one guy at the front desk. Great value if you’re playing a morning weekend round or a weekday twilight

Horrible pace of play

Horrible pace of play, no marshals on the course monitoring it. This course used to have good pace and you would usually finish in 4 hours on a busy day but the last 2 times i've played here has gone downhill. Feel like Star Ranch is trying to take the title away from Teravista as the home of slow play.
