Lakewood Country Club
About
Lakewood Country Club of Naples sprawls across 52 lush acres that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including several different bird species. Located just outside of downtown Naples, Marco Island is just a few minutes away. The golf course snakes around four freshwater lakes, the sparkling waters contrasting beautifully with the native trees and shrubs that border the fairways and greens. The par-60 course is ideal for beginners, offering a round with a conveniently quick pace of play that will still put your short game skills to the test. Making putts is particularly challenging. Most of Lakewood Country Club of Naples's greens are elevated and you'll encounter water on 14 holes. There are also 28 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Every hole has a risk-reward scenario in play, which keeps the low handicappers happy but also gives new golfers the confidence to tackle the golf course without the fear that it's too much to handle.

Practice Course
Was good for quick 18 holes. It is mainly p3 and 6 p4 which in theory are all driveable. Tiniest greens I’ve ever seen, if you miss the pin by 7-10ft you might end up in the thick with a tricky up and down. Course puts a huge premium on accuracy which is why I liked it for practice. If you’re able to play the p3 level here, you can most likely do it on any course…
Person working behind the counter was not pleasant at all. He actually berated a customer for placing his clubs on cart before time allowed due to they were short on carts. He was actually screaming at the customer. We ended up only playing nine holes due to spouse not feeling well and pace of play.. No rain check allowed and was told to call GolfNow. He seemed to have an attitude from the start because I booked thru GolfNow.
Double Charged
Be careful!!!!! On March 6th I played here with my family. I’ve recently found on my Amex statement that they charged me twice! One 239.00 and another 219.00. Amex told me places change charges like this so no one notices the second charge. Pretty sneaky! I will place this review on all social media so someone else doesn’t fall for the scam! Oh and by the way I left 2 messages and still haven’t heard from them!
'tis the season...
It's tourist season in Naples. That means $150-$300 per round if you want to play a championship course. Fortunately (at least for the time being) there are three executive courses that can be played for under $60. (Of course, if you watch the rates on a weekly basis and look for deals you may be able to play a round of golf for under $50 but duffers get up early here and the shopping is more competitive than the golf). We had perfect 72-78 degree weather on Sunday afternoon so my wife and I walked the course. The tee boxes are pretty beat up but the fairways and greens are looking pretty good. We paired up with another couple and enjoyed our day but the pace was SLOW! If you've never played here -- please be advised that the front 9 is unimpressive and the back 9 is beautiful. ENJOY!
Country Club of Naples
Some of the greens are extremely small/tight. One, although quite deep was barely 8' at the narrowest. Ok course, but not a repeat.
Great Corporate Type Course
Really great compact course. Allowed me alot of par 3 practice. Good place of play, would definitely recommend. IMO a great, cheap warmup for you're $150.00+ PGA quality courses while you're in Naples!!
Executive course with wierd greens
Short course and many green are tiny peanut shaped and only 3 to 5 steps wide in the middle.
Greens are in pretty good shape. A good challange for short game.
Quick 9 with rental clubs for our guests.
Good pace. Some nice holes with water hazards to make it somewhat interesting. It’s a short course par 3&4s only.
Fun little course
Fun little executive course. Would play again because you finish in a few hours if you get out early enough.. nice folks working there as well.
Dear dave2208 - I appreciate your patronage and apologize for any confusion regarding your payment. When you book a tee time at Lakewood Country Club on-line you are immediately charged for your reservation. The fact that you were charged again at the golf course was simply an oversight on the part of an inexperienced Golf Shop Attendant and not a scheme to purposely overcharge you. I have already refunded $219.00 back to your AMEX card and hope you will visit us again. Regards, Dave Hoyt, General Manager, Lakewood Country Club of Naples
