Golfer Reviews
Challenging Greens
Greens are in perfect conditions and pretty fast. Fun to play but challenging. Fairways are not really good. Course was crowded on a Sunday and pace of play was slow. Layout not that interesting. Fairways are very close together and tee boxes sometimes close to previous greens. You need to be careful not being hit by balls from other flights in all kind of directions.
Great
Greens rolling about a 10.5-11 on stimp. Just perfect.
Fairways in decent shape as well as tee boxes.
They are punching the greens after Labor Day.
Fun Place to Play
This was my first time at the course and I really enjoyed it. Most holes are forgiving off the tee, but there are a few places with hazards. The greens are what really make the course challenging and fun. They are fast and firm and were in great shape. Fairways and tee boxes are in pretty good condition. There is a grass driving range that’s also in pretty good shape and about the same as the fairways. Practice putting green is really good and matches the conditions out on the course. I will play here again next time I’m in the area.
Great Find!
Greens were the best I’ve played on in a long time. Fast and smooth. The track is really fun and in nice shape. The pace of play was outstanding. The lady in the pro shop (didn’t get her name) was very nice as was the staff in the restaurant. Overall a great experience. I live in Orlando and it was more than worth the hour drive to play there. I will definitely play here again.
They do need an ice machine and more water on the course.
Great Beach Muni
Greens and fairways are healthy and rolling true. Course presents some challenges, but overall is gettable and forgiving. Fun track!
Greens are coming along after top dressing
This is a fun course. It’s historic in that it is a Donald Ross design, which means greens that challenge you on approach and on the surface.
The greens are this course’s defense-pretty forgiving otherwise but there are challenges.
Positioning from the tee is crucial on holes 2, 6,7 and 8. On the back, it’s more wide open but the holes play tough due to the undulations and size/shape of the greens. Fun course.
The staff are always working to improve conditions: armored bunkers and new tee boxes are resent work that has been done. Overall shape of the course is better than the price would reflect. I’d recommend giving it a shot.
Enjoyable course
First timer…very enjoyable from a golf standpoint ..greens were in really nice shape and putted very well. Fairways in good shape, a few tee boxes could use a little work. The track is nice although at $50 on a weekday in the middle of summer, it’s a bit over-priced…Very minimal amenities…only option is vending machines with soda and water before the restaurant opens at 11:00 am, apparently.
