Palatka Golf Club

The greens were in awful condition, almost unplayable. It looked like they were recently aerated and sanded, making them incredibly slow. The tee boxes were in awful condition as well. This course was great a few months ago, but today the condition was not worth playing. It would have been nice to have been warned about the aerated greens.

Perhaps every course is undergoing aeration at this time of the year, so a diminished experience is to be expected. Course appears to not have seen much water and weeds are winning their battle with the grasses.

Greens in terrible condition. Weeds everywhere in the rough. Tees were mostly sand. I will not return to this course.

Tee boxes need a little work but everything else pretty good

Great time. Bathroom on the course is in poor condition.

Wanted to play a Donald Ross. Wasn’t expecting Pinehurst #2 and the undulations in the greens were classic DR, they were way too slow. You had to bash everything which is a serious problem for touch putters. Felt like they were not cut since last Saturday morning. Once a week isn’t enough folks.

Rat is the course was blah. Tired looking, weeds everywhere. Decent clubhouse environment however old school. If you wanted to play DR greens, these were right there with New Smyrna Golf Course, except NS cuts their greens more frequently.

Considering the time of year the course was in very good shape

This Donald Ross course has small greens with quite a few that are crowned so accuracy with your irons is really important

Need to know how to bump and run to stop your ball on the green

The fairways are in good shape; rough is quite weedy and needs a lot of work

Greens were sanded recently and slow

Based on the license plates I’d say this course is mostly played by locals

not your regular florida track course

We have played here about once a week during our 3 snowbird months and have for several years. Love this course. Lay out is Donald Ross at his best Each year we see improvements Staff pleasant. Welcoming atmosphere. Fairways in best condition of the area. A real gem

Used GOLFNOW to book the hot deal tee time of 9:47. I live in The Villages and it took me roughly one and half hours to get there. Nice drive. Easy getting cart and started early. Fairways & Greens in good shape. Tee boxes & Paths need work. Do not let the distance fool you. Always scope out where you are hitting to otherwise you may not like where your shot will end up

We always enjoying playing at the Palatka course. We ate in the dining room for the first time today and it was a very good experience. The only down side is the out door rest rooms. They are not kept clean and they are in disrepair.
