Palatka Golf Club

The course is beautiful the green are great pace of play is spot on . The staff are very nice enjoying the beauty of the course.

First time playing Palatka.

I liked the course except, with all due respect to designer Donald Ross, more than a few greens were too small. (One in particular I recall – the par-5 fourth green seemed to be the size and contour of a pitcher’s mound!) Also, many tees were close to the prior green; could get a bit dangerous on a busy day.

Fairways and greens were in great shape. However, the rough “grass” around the greens was very sparse. Lots of waste bunkers.

Pretty nice course, slow greens but a cool layout for a short municipal course

Interesting course with small greens. Fair layout and conditions for all levels. Fairway grass a little longer than usual. Greens were true and smooth.

Previous reviews convinced me to try this course. Had an image that was off. Decent municipal course that was worth the cost and one-hour drive.

Course is in decent shape fairways are nice. Greens are very slow but classic Donald Ross. Small greens lots of tricky breaks.

Course is also very short from the tips, would have used hybrids for most holes if my driver was not working that day.

Par 3s are almost all the same distance.

Overall good course to have a good time.

You won’t find many hills in Florida but this course backs up to the Ravine Gardens state park in Palatka Florida. I have seen YouTube videos of guys that have link courses in England and this is how it’s set up. I was able to get through 18 in just over 2 hours. The course is both easy in some ways but challenging in others. The greens have turtle shell so chipping and short game are challenged. I played from the whites and although sometimes the distance doesn’t seem to be a factor going uphill on some 350 plus par 4’s were challenging yet fun for a golfer of my skill level. 20 handicap. I loved the course and was overall in great condition for this time of year in Florida. Will be back for sure.

Golf course is in the best condition I have ever seen it

The greens are very very slow. The rest of the course is in nice shape. We need to complain to management to improve the greens. One of my friends said the greens were the slowest ever. Increase the green speed.

Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Bunkers and tea boxes needs attention. Overall a pleasurable experience.

Will definitely play it again when visiting Florida

The course was pretty cool, but we had the weirdest experience in our golfing history. We came in from out of town because we heard good things about the course. Unfortunately, we had 6-somes and 8-somes in front of us holding things up. It did not become a big issue until the last few holes. They refused to get off of greens and could not walk straight because of their alcohol use. We had a police officer behind us who decided to join our group, and by the last hole he went up to them and told them to get off the green because they had been on for literally 15-20 minutes. They verbally assaulted us and almost physically assaulted the police officer. We will never play there again.
