Martin Downs Country Club - Osprey Creek Course

It looked like the irrigation system hadn’t worked in months.

I understand that the course is under new owerbship. It needs a year at lease to come back from years of neglicevot so we were told

Very pleasant to play. Fairways wide , greens very fast.. some holes challenging, some holes a bit more relaxing will go back soon...

Played here for 1st time a month ago so followed up. Nice layout and course is improving but it’s going to take a while.

Course condition was ok, except for many greens having spots of invasive grass. Greens rolls really well, except when you hit one of these invasive speed bumps. Very good selection of tees, allowing the course to be played at yardage suitable to your game. Pace of play was just about 4:30 - unacceptable.

The course itself is nicely laid out, but in need of major repairs. I was told by one of the regulars who played with us that the new owners have have let this course run down hill since they took over. The fairways are in horrible shape. The greens for the most part are decent. The staff was very friendly and the ranger came around several times. The round was completed in just under 4 1/2 hours. The men’s bathroom was locked and even one of the regular’s who had a key found it didn’t work. As such golfers could be seen relieving themselves in the bushes. This is not what I would expect to find. Music was inappropriate and loud at the on-course snack bar.

This course has the potential to once again become one of the top notch courses in the area.with the proper management and attention to maintenance.

I live in Ibis (part time) and have watched the course decline. I am super impressed and excited about the new ownership. Having the half way house functioning, the changes to the clubhouse, and seeing water flowing on the fairway and all the new equipment to manage/maintain the course is wonderful. It will take time for the course to fully come back, but it is on the way! Grateful for new leadership. Also, Mike who helps with your clouds and cart is a great guy. Always smiling!!!! When I am here I play this course several times a week.

Nice for the money 5 sets of tees so able to accommodate all levels.
