Buffalo Creek Golf Course

Slow pace. Browning fairways. Fluffy greens. Low ponds.

We played the first nine as a twosome and made good progress. The second nine they allowed a six some on in front of us playing some type of scramble, they were really slow, taking their shoes off and generally not showing good golf manners. It was Easter Sunday and obviously there were no marshals working. The round was cheap so I guess I shouldn’t complain. The course was very dry, the ponds were extremely low, and there was still a lot of hurricane damage to trees on the course and there was damage on the greens were sand had to be placed to cover it up.carts were comfortable, but no gps.

Quick review doesn't need to be long. Tees & fairways were very good. Green were terrible. Bare spots on alot of them and many old replacement of holes that were all over the greens. Greens keeper needs to go back for a refresher on how to replace holes correctly.

Booked a round here. Nowhere posted that greens were sanded. Greens already in bad shape so sanded Greens made putting practically nonexistent. Bad pace of play waited on every hole 5hr round. No Rangers in sight to move pace along. Tee boxes in rough shape as well. I know that were coming out of season but if your Greens are under construction post it to give players an opportunity to play elsewhere.

Buffalo Creek is a fun challenging golf course. The fairways are in decent shape and are generous in width. The course is sort of an open links-style layout and the winds can often impact most shots adding to the challenge of selecting the proper approach club.. The layout from the white tees is 6401 and 6926 from the back tees with several other tees available that are more forgiving.. The greens are an interesting variety of both large and small foot print putting surfaces. They were average speed but consistent and tended to have a stronger grain. The greens roll true and although some are moderately sloped (e.g. #2,, #3,#8,#10,#13,#14,#16,#27,#18) there are locations on most of them that are flatter depending on the pin.positions.. The staff is always friendly and professional and they run an efficient and orderly service.

Best municipal golf course close to the Tampa area. Imagine there was actually grass on the fairways. Greens in need of a little care. Pretty wide open which makes for a pleasant golf experience, however, could use a little more course detail which would bring it up to excellent. It is a shame so many big trees have fallen in the storm. A lot of elevation changes.

Greens are in rough shape. Sand on some that have been there for a very long time. Divots and just poor overall condition on most greens. Very slow play, group of 3 in front of us was teeing off from the back tees and had no business doing that. The ranger should have been speaking to them about playing ready golf. Extremely slow due to players waiting to hit when not necessary.

The people that work here are great.

The tee box and fairways are in good condition, some of the greens are in repair which makes for some tough putts. (But I appreciate them keeping up on the repairs to make them the best they can)

This is are go to course when in Florida. I have never had a bad experience there.

They do close the driving range a couple hours each day to collect the balls, a caged cart would be beneficial to keep it open all day, I’m sure it would be payed off in short order.

First time here and I enjoyed it. Glad to not be surrounded by homes on all the holes, like a resort course. Easy layout. Few blind shots. It had rained heavily the night before so it was cart path only, not many players, so kind like a private club for a day! Staff were very friendly. Low rate and comfortable carts
