About
Moccasin Wallow Golf Club (previously known as Imperial Lakewoods Golf Club) is located at the intersection of I-75 and I-275 on exit 45 in Palmetto, less than a 30-minute drive from Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota. The course was designed by Ted McAnlis around 200 beautiful wooded acres with 16 lakes. The course's signature hole, No.18 (550 yard, par 5 dog leg around Imperial Lake), is chosen year after year by local golfers as the best par 5 in southwest Florida

Great!!
Wow...the last time I was here it a 3 out of 5 stars.On the day the course was EXCELLENT!!The greens rolled true(a lot of 1 putts)they were PERFECT!!The fairways were in tip top shape and cut to perfection.Kuddos to the grounds crew,who helped me get my lowest score to date.81:)
The moc
Improvement over the last few years. Greens are slow but lush. Fairways are good with good lies. Will come back

Everything’s green! What a difference when the weather cooperates, tee boxes and fairways plush and the greens are a 8 out of 10. And can only see them getting better if the weather stays good. Definitely worth the ride from St. Pete.

Wow! The Moc has changed; still the same great layout, but the conditions have gotten sooo much better. Looking for a good course at a great price, give it a GO!
Great golf experience
Wife and I played Thursday afternoon. It was great. The course was in wonderful condition and although it was four in the afternoon the crew was still putting finishing touches on the course for the day. The recently sprayed fairways were green and playable, the greens were fast and in great shape. We did find that what looked like a. Mole had attack one of the greens. We spoke to the owner who immediately notified the crew. Enjoyed the course, coming back Sunday to play again.
Conditions
First time playing here. Heard really good things about it. As of 8/24/19 it needs work. Give it time to dry out and have the staff cut and clean. The fairways were not good. The rough was terrible. The worse part is the fringe around the greens. I prefer always to chip off fringe or around greens. Not here. Lost several balls because the rough was so overgrown. There’s no second cut. It’s just fairway and “oh no” area. Greens seem to have been punched recently. But they didn’t do a good job getting them back. Perhaps end of this year it’ll be in better shape. The layout was good. Needs a better course map. I personally play the course with irons vs always using driver then going from there. But there isn’t a good book to scout the blind spots. It’s worst a try but no time soon. Also. Their chipping greens are like the course. And their driving range is water.
Cabbage Patch
The fairways are most without grass, patchy to say the least. The greens needs work in the nth degree. The employees need to upgrade their sense of humor and modify their bland demeanor.. what they did for the passed nine months wasn’t a fix to the course. We’ll not return..
Hidden Jewel!!
This the 2nd time I've played this course. It is really a jewel...Hard but Fair! It is definitely on my favorites list.
Great Local Course
The course has come a long way since it has been raining. Greens are much better and fairways are finally green and full. I would recommend this course now for any type of golfer.
Complete Joke
Booked a tee time through GolfNow on 6/25/19 for 4:00PM. When I arrived the owner informed me he was closing the course so they could water it... are you serious??? I got no call from the course to notify me I wasn’t going to be able to play. Not only that, the owner told me he called GolfNow and cancelled my reservation with them. After personally speaking with GolfNow on the phone, it turns out that was a complete lie. They never called to cancel the reservation. Now I have to keep calling back until GolfNow can get ahold of the course so I can get my refund. Horrible way to run a business....Online it says they are open till 6PM but they close shop at 4PM. Course won’t last long with those business practices....good luck.

We see you have left a review of which you are leaving out much of the story. Your confirmation number 325819648 was booked at 3:53 PM for a 4:00 pm tee time. I had called golf now cares line at 3:30 pm to close our tee sheet with golf now as we do not have an integrated tee sheet with GolfNow. We actually closed off our tee sheet at 2:00 pm to all of our members as well as anyone booking online as the heat that day was 98 degrees and a heat index of 108. You walked up at 3:57 pm 4 minute after you booked a time which should not have been sold attempting to get a better rate than the one offered at the course. So be truthful with everyone that you booked in the parking lot and walked up to find the course closed for maintenance. You wouldn’t get a call from us as you booked while onsite. My golf now rep is trying to figure out who on the inside did not close off the tee sheet as we called to let about maintenance. I will not apologize for making my product better but closing the after noon for watering and not having my golf course burn from the heat. We are sorry about your inconvenience and know that our closing is not about greed and trying to make as much money as possible but giving golfers a great product. You didn’t prepay anything to the course only your $2.49 booking fee so lets not pretend you are out money or that the golf course beat you out of anything. You received your refund from golf now and the golf course didn’t make any money from you. Golf courses close down due to maintenance and weather issues all the time.
A hidden gem!
I was impressed with the course although the grass was a little high. That was acceptable after all the rain. Can't wait to back after the grass is cut!
Finally
This course has taken a change of direction. Over the last 6 months there has been massive construction going on out front with a new road and Publix, so don’t let that distract u from what truly is out there. The course has massive potential and the recent fertilization and aerification has made this place GREEN. Go give it a shot!
Excellent course
This course has a layout that is second to none in the Parish/Palmetto area. Constant work has been done to improve greens and fairways making it one of the nicest courses around. The staff is friendly and very helpful when it comes to pace of play.
The course has a nice design and layout.
Overall the course needs a lot of work. Formerly Imperial Lakewood, this course does have potential. Unfortunately, it seems that the new ownership is not investing any money in the greens or tee boxes. Horrible conditions. The most frustrating part is that on the front 9, the only restroom and water location wasn't operational. In hot humid weather; this is really not good. Unless this course completely changes, I will never go back. The front of the clubhouse looks like a real eye sore. Terribly disappointing.
Thank you for leaving a review but we have no record of you playing on 6/15/2019. We do have record of you playing last year. If you were there Saturday we tell everyone that there are water fountains at each bathroom as well as water cooler in the clubhouse. Our bar and restaurant is one of the nicest at any clubhouse and the parking lot/ entrance is under construction for the Publix shopping center. We have spent a lot of time and money on our tees and greens recently so we are not sure when you played. Please let us know when you played and your receipt and we gladly would like to make things right with you.

The course was a little dry but play incredibly fast..
Nobody in front of,or behind me a Great day..
My play was erratic but the course was fine!

Thank you for leaving your review. We are waiting on Mother Nature to give ups the water that we need. We have sprayed the proper chemicals and need water and ground temperature to allow the grass to flourish. I promise that the golf course is getting the behind the scenes attention to be really good in the not so distant future.

You are correct, i must’ve played on another cow pasture.
We think you have the wrong course. We have no record of a Skip playing here and no verifiable user by golf advisor. Our fairways are completely full with verY little foreign grass intrusion. As other read comments below this review is contradictory.
