About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Fast as fast can be
This course has a pretty open layout, but is not without its challenges. Some serious doglegs and holes that don't necessarily require driver. There is a lot of water to consider; either in the front of you or running along side of the fairway. The greens were in fantastic conditions and were extremely fast from what I'm used to playing. In addition to being fast, there is a lot of unjulated movement that adds to the challenges. I left a lot of shots on the course, therefore, I'm compelled to go back and vindicate myself or maybe that's just my excuse to going back. Staff were very cordial as well.
Memorable?
Whether you have your A game or something less, a memorable experience is the goal, especially on vacation. This was not the case at Holiday! A nice course in good condition gets overlooked in a 5+ hour outing. Waiting on every shot gets old fast.. Older crowd that would not wave anyone through is what I was told by others in parking lot and experienced first hand. Gave up on 16 tee after 5 hr and 20 min.

Great course, would play again!
This was our first time there. Course was in great shape! Everything from the fairways to the greens. I would definaty play this course again and highly recommend it.

It's a well manicured resort style course greens were aerated a few weeks prior but still were in good shape longer hitters play from the tips the next tees up aren't that challenging great super staff DEFINITELY worth the money a few holes water is in play but quite playable

Holiday Golf
Course was the best course we played in the area. The greens had been aerated in the last two weeks, but rolled well. Pace of play was slow right at 5 hours.

Great conditions
Greens are in flawless condition. Fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers are emaculate as well. Fun lay out with several doglegs and water in play. Wind from the coast adds an extra challenge. Great deal from golf now. Overall completely satisfied and wouldn't have been upset if I paid full price. For those comparing courses, I played Hombre earlier in the week, which was also a fun course, and the greens were in terrible shape, either patched or sanded. If you only have time for one go with Holiday.

I under estimatated
Great deal on golfadvisor to play this top notch course. Greens were firm and fast. My only concern was the group in front of me. I was playing by myself and was behind a foursome of seniors. After the marshall rode by with no concern i asked to play through and to my surprise they got angry. So i just played through anyway lol. It ruined my day but i am not taking anything away from the golf course, it was in great shape.
Holiday Championship
Great fun, 3 some played in 3 3/4 hours after letting a 2 some play through. Good conditions, flat layout, water in play frequently. 5 sets tees. Would recommend for golfers of all levels.

Nice Course
Enjoyed our round even in the Florida heat... Found a good hot deal on Golf Now and it was well worth it.. Well maintained..wide fairways..flat... A course that should satisfy everyone...

The course was in great shape
Tee boxes were in great shape the fairways were excellent the greens looked great but were impossible to make over a four foot putt between the foursome of good golfers no one made a quality putt all day and each putt left a sand trail behind it. Overall the course was fantastic and we still had great rounds just plan on at least two putting every hole. We started on the back nine and the rate of play was very fast didn't have to wait on a single hole after the turn the play went to a crawl we waited on every hole and every shot thereafter. The signs need a outline of hole and some sort of distances The staff was great especially the lady cooking at the snack bar. I would love to play again I was very impressed with the course layout

Great shape
Greens, fairways, tee boxes, and sand traps were all in great shape. Layout is really neat as well. Lots of big dog legs and other challenging shots.

First time at holiday
The course was in excellent condition. Greens were a little firm but very smooth. My dad is 80 years old and he loved the course and putted excellent. Not many hills which made it a easy course to play for my dad. Overall we loved the course and will play it again.
First, thanks for checking us out for the first time. Second, thanks for bringing dad! Reviews like this remind us why we are in this industry... Not many other sports you can share with your 80-year-old father (hopefully he took it easy on you). We're glad you two enjoyed the round and we hope to see you again soon.
