Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Great course
Tee boxes were lush. Fairways were very nice. Sand traps were clean and dry. Greens were good for just coming out of winter and i think they'd be great onece summer hits. The course is a bit straight and none of the holes have water hazards. I wish it was layed out and designed a bit more artistically, but it's very well maintained. The staff was excellent and the other golfers were pleasant.
Wonderful day
My three great friends and I had a fun round - the second here for most of us - and it was great. The course is in pretty good shape for early spring - greens need a little work, with a very few weeds adding challenge. It was very windy this round - but we're average - 70 year old golfers - and the wind didn't really effect us much. We really like this course and would recommend it to anyone.
A good plsce to golf
It is the kind of golf that we play at home
The greens of a bit tricky but it add to the challenge.
I recommend it.
Excellent outing
Thouroughly enjoyed my outing. The weather was great. The staff was helpful. Other players were courteous. The course was under maintenance in some areas, but it did not interfere with play and I look forward to visiting again.
Rolling terrain
First visit to panhandle area courses, and first "inland" non-coastal course. Fast rue greens. White tees played and found course challenging but not punishing. You could recover from errant shots. Tree lined fairways and less windy than coastal courses, Enjoyed playing and definitely will play on future visits to this area. Nice to play rolling terrain course in this area. Grass just starting to green up, Bunkers nice with fine granular white sand.
Needs second chance
Course had a lot of work going on, which was needed. Would like to go back someday when greens and fairways are in better shape, they were addressing these issues while we were there.
Plugs and holes
Booked a round on GolfNow. Nobody in the proshop mentioned that they were aerating the entire course fairways so therevwas no place to put a ball down on grass on the entire course. Worst of all they were running the equipment while there were players on the course and did not stop when players were on the tee box this happened to my party on 17 and 18.
When i talked to the pro staff they offered a replay.. not much chance to do that when you live 8 and 20 hours away. First time i have ever seen a course actively plowing up a fairway while paying golfers were trying to play. Really really disapointed with this course lack of respect for its guests.
Nice course
A very enjoyable round of golf was had by our foursome. Course coming out of winter very well.
Marcus Point
Course is well.laid out and challenging enough for all levels.
Of c course it is winter and the Bermuda fairways were a little beat down, but the greens were in great shape.
They have a lot of slopes and some challenging pin locations.
This was my third time playing there and always while on winter vacation in the area.
Will g o back and play again.
Great Staff
Course in good condition for weather we have been having.
Staff very accommodating and helpful.
Great hot dogs .
Marcus Pointe makes a comeback
I am a Canadian snowbird coming to the panhandle for the last 10 years, and Marcus was awesome the first 2 years then went into a period of decline over 4-5 years and became terrible to play then after being purchased a few years back new owners are bring this course back to it's glory,, Well worth the price, great layout and can be as tough as you like if you take the tips or even blues..and in season I play 4 days a week when in Florida only 3 days a week
Not freindly
Clubhouse staff not too freindly , course set up too tough for freindly game ,greens are too fast and not freindly at all
Great Course, very challenging!!
Very tough greens. Staff was phenomenal as always.
