Nice course for the money
Course is in decent shape. Played other courses in the area for more money that weren't as good. Pace of play is good. We went as a two some and was partnered up . Every time we have golfed here we have met some great people. There are some bare spots on the fairways, but the greens are nice, (and Fast) And the area around the greens is good. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We did have a 3some in front of us that was slow. When the course seen they were a hole behind a ranger showed up and got them moving.
Needs work
Only paid $37 so the fact that the course is in terrible shape is understandable.
I had reserved a tee time and the pro shop had no record.
Starter paired me with a couple. When I went to introduce my self to the couple before I could say a word they said they only play by themselves. Starter did nothing. I had to play as a single. A single on a crowded course . Slow slow play. Will not play here again.

hard to please people
we were paired with another couple very sweet people the ranger told us we needed to play faster so we sped up a ball rolled and I mean rolled to the cart where the foursome in front of us was then they harped at us. we still had a good time even though we could not please anyone.
Enjoyed day
Great day. Good variety of holes. Fairways a bit dry but not a problem. Greens tricky and fast ( at least for my game). Paired with a nice couple and we all enjoyed the corse and day.

Port Charlotte Golf
Course is in ok shape and is priced accordingly. Pace of play was good. The food in the restaurant is excellent and a great value. Very friendly staff. Vinnie the starter/Marshall does an excellent job keeping things moving. Overall we had an enjoyable day!
Worth the money
Course is in average condition worth the money to play it.

Decent course
Not a big fan of the grass a lot Florida courses use and this was no exception. For the price, I liked the course. But they allow too many golfers to go out. Took 35 minutes to play two holes,, and it did not improve much.
Shouldn’t take 4:45 to play 18 holes with everyone in carts. Front 9 took 90 minutes. Do the math.
Staff was very friendly.
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we are glad to see you rated the course conditions to be great during your game. Thank you for playing Port Charlotte Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Ok for Golfnow reduced price
Small hard fast greens. Greens and fairways condition average. Would not pay full price to play this course. I would play it again with the reduced Golfnow price.

I would venture to say that this course needs a lot of love & that being said I do not foresee that we shall be returning any time soon!

Course Needs Work
We used to play here all the time. Havn't played in 2 years because they tried going private. I really expected the course to be in great condition and the price paid indicated that it would be. Well we were really surprised to see that the course had really gone DOWNHILL. There are a lot of weeds in the fairways and a lot of bare spots around the greens. Really not up to par. Will not ptay again unless there is a substantial reduction in the price. VERY DISAPPOINTED ....

Needs a little work
Greens are pretty good. Fairways are ok. Tee Box’s are bad. I’ll return for the right price.
Course Needs Work
We have play a number of courses in the area and this course was in the worst shape of those played, it needed attention. It has a nice lay out and a lot to offer. Unfortunately, tee boxes were in poor condition, there were a number of areas on the fairways that needed repair.. There are a number of greens that need attention. We have played this course many times in the past and it is in poor shape compared to the past. Perhaps this is due to the weather or the type of grasses used. There was evidence that many of the issues are being addressed, grass seed, tee boxes taken out of service for repairs, etc. There is a lot of work to be done, perhaps, it is planned for repairs to be completed before the majority of snow birds return in January.
Misleading Name
I believe this course will be redeveloped and has been completely let go, It is likely in the poorest condition I've ever seen a golf course. Tee boxes are dirt and weeds (some are temporary and right beside the cart path). Greens are full of weeds and dead spots. Fairways have been completely let go and are also full of weeds and wet areas (likely from a leaking old sprinkler system). Two members of the staff ignored us at length while both helped the customer before us. Neither were friendly or welcoming. My biggest issue is that the name is very misleading. When booking on GN the course is listed as "The Links At Charlotte Harbor" which can easily be mistaken for "Charlotte Harbor National" (formerly Bobcat Trail). When the reservation confirmation arrives suddenly the course name becomes "Port Charlotte Golf Club". That's simply misleading. The name on the sign at the entrance to the course is "Port Charlotte Golf Club". There is no literature or signage that I could see, including the score card, naming the course "The Links At Charlotte Harbor". I would never have knowingly booked this course. I played it once last year and it was in poor condition. I had no desire to return. It has since further degenerated. At the very least GN should have systems in place to ensure the name of the course you are booking is the same name as the on one the reservation confirmation. Why would you allow 2 different names for the same course unless there is intent to mislead. When I asked GN to cancel I was informed it was a Hot Deal and could not be refunded. At $41 this certainly seemed like typical Hot Deal price for a quality 4 star course on GN. This course having a 3.5 star rating is beyond absurd.
Get the name right and be honest with your customers.
Course condition poor
Greens had multiple bare spots
Hard to find a decent spot in fairway with grass
Tee areas were deplorable with crab grass, weeds, or no grass
Staff were very nice
Really sad to see a course with such a nice layout fall into disrepair.
