I enjoyed myself. The course was in excellent condition considering a recent Hurricane. There's still work to do but the staff did a great job to get the place as nice as it is. I was expecting worse.
Fun and Fair Course
PC is one of those rare Florida courses where you can play 18 and not lose a single ball. There is water on the course but it takes a really bad shot to find it. The greens were fast and true, fairways and traps were good but around the greens you have a lot of non-Bermuda grass. No biggie. Not country club conditions but still good.
Great day if golf
Course was in good shape overall One fairway unplayable though. Greens okay. Challenging
Manager has issues
The course was in poor shape, but mostly because of excessive rain and Irma. Not really all their fault. The big problem they have is the manager that can be rude and unprofessional. We were on the 9th hole and he was screaming at us from the patio. He could have walked out, and handled the issue privately and professionally. And yes, we were in the wrong. I don't believe sometimes hes an asset to the course.
tall grass in wet fairways
While this is after Irma, it is in poor shape, it is very wet, the cannot mow, but grass has grown very tall in the fairways. It is very difficult to find your ball, and if you do you are always playing out of the rough. Because it is wet, you are restricted to cart path only, this makes for a much longer round.
I would wait a few days for it to dry and hopefully they get a chance to cut the grass.
Great layout
Excellent layout that requires evey clubs in your bag, and by the way, the greens had recovered ...
Ok course for the money
Got a great deal on GolfNow. The greens at this course have been aerated all summer and have been very bumpy. Pace of play is excellent because of the low turnout of golfers
Very Fun Course to play1
Great fun course with very decent length but with many tee boxes to accommodate every golfer. Was a bit slow play but people were accommodating in letting me play through.
Public Course
A few things;
Golfnow app gave this a 4* review and showed price as $30, arriving at course the pro shop said the most they charged was $15 so charged me that.
For $15 I can't complain, course had been aerated (but no mention on the app), was pretty wide open, with little difficulty.
Course was very quiet when I played (afternoon in July) so went round in just over 2 hours which suited me as I like to play fast.
I'd offer no criticism of the course, just be aware that it's far from the best course in the area, but is a lot less expensive. If going again I'd pay a bit more for some of the other local courses
The greens had just been topped dressed, had I known this, I would have played elsewhere. I will make it a point to call the golf course next time prior to booking a T time and inquire about the course condition. For the most part, a fair deal.
Wonderful Layout
The layout of this course is very nice. No guessing where the next hole is. The putting green had sanded and aerated so not the best for putting. The overall grass was a little lacking probably due to not enough rain and watering. We are just getting back into golf and like the fact the course is pretty wide open and not a lot of water and trees. Of course, the water holes were dried up, so we would have to play in summer to determine if there is a lot of water. LOL. This will definitely be our "go to" golf course.
I like this course
The staff is great. This course is good for golfers of moderate or better skill levels. The greens are challenging, but fair. We played in frorida drought conditions but he course was in good shape. It had enough bunkers and other features to test your skills, but not frustrate the average golfer. All in all a positive experience, and worth the money.
Quick and true greens
Concidering the aera hasnt had rains in months the course was in great condition
Drought
Greens are nice and fast the tee boxes where in rough shape only because of the lack of rain. I would go back and play thi course again.
Ok for the price, but.....
Course is a decent layout, but conditions are showing the large volume of play this course gets. Not terrible, but not great, a few tee boxes were basically bare and there are a fair amount of bare spots throughout the course. Greens were pretty good and rolled good at a fair pace. We were told they start on both #1 & 10 in the morning, so we had to wait till some groups came through off the back before we could tee off. On the front nine we waited on every shot on every hole, with three groups on the tee at #5. As we come through to head for #10 the starter tells us we are 28 minutes behind (we were 2:35 for the front). We just laughed. Back played right at two hours. Overall not bad for the price at this time of year. Just expect slow play. $10-$15 more will get you a much better round elsewhere, but we'll go back after the winter crowds are gone and the normal price goes down.
