Too wet to rate
A nice course. I liked the layout and variety of holes. Pace was fine because I started on back nine to avoid foursomes on front, and then skipped a hole to get ahead of two twosomes...was done in 2-1/2 hours. Course was very wet, cart path only, unmowed fairways, so no roll and a lot of walking. The greens were fine. I would definitely go back when it's drier.
Great playing course
Course is very comfortable and the staff were very nice and accommodating. Will go back
nice layout
Very nice course - will play there again
Not much water to worry about
Course was in good shape although the greens were uncharacteristically slow and bumpy, for Port Charlotte that is. May be due to all the rain we've had. For $20 you can't go wrong.
slick greens
fast greens were challenging , but true. tee boxes could use some help. fairways in good shape , some rough spot in the rough area.
Decent - But Expensive
Course in pretty good shape, but was expensive for a very average golf course.
a great deal for March
Very reasonable price for this time of year by booking online. Finished round in less than 3.5 hrs, teeing off at 1:15. Starter sent our twosome and some others off no. 10 which really helped. Greens are the fastest in Charlotte County. You must be below the hole or three putts are likely.
Go have some fun!
This is definitely a fun place to come and play some golf. A good track and well maintained too. Head Pro Jimmy and staff are doing a great job making sure that things are running smoothly, and everybody is being taken care of. A working mans track for sure, with a great 19th. Hole.
Crazy fast greens.
Overall enjoyable. Scores could have been better except for the fast greens. I new they would be faster but none of our group could keep the ball on the approach shots.
Great Value
We had a great day for golf. Front 9 a little slow but things sped up on the back. 4 1/2 hour round overall. Green fast but true.
It's a playable golf course.
Port Charlotte country club.
The course was in very good shape for the dry weather, although the pin placement on the greens were not opinal to fast play concidering the super fast greens and the slopes on all. Green keepers could have fond some level ground on some of the greens for pin placement.
All to get her a nice course.
Port Charlotte Golf Club, White Tees
If you like generally wide fairways, not too much water, and lightning fast, but true putting greens, you'll love this course.
PACE OF PLAY WAS slow
Love the greens but the fairways were thin. Pace of play was so slow that there was a five some behind our twosome that were waiting on the first 8 holes. We waited on every hole.
Decent course, but slow play.
Play was slow, but I got a good deal on Golf Now. Average course.
wide open course in excellent condition
A very pleasant round. Was paired up with another snowbird who plays course twice a week.
Had a great round and will probably start playing here once a week.
As I mentioned putting here is easier than other course with slow greens. You just need to adjust to the very fast ball movement.
Slow play hurts nice day
Course is in very nice shape, would have been an otherwise perfect outing on a beautiful course, well maintained, but the Golf Now foursome in front of us was very inconsiderate. When they started they were right behind the group in front, when they finished they were 2 1/2 holes behind. When I tried to take the 1:15 tee time it was unavailable because this group had just taken it , so I took 1:22. Big mistake. Also my partner had to rent clubs for $30+ and they gave him a set of completely mismatched clubs both graphite and steel different brands. They weren't worth $10 The course conditions made up for the bad parts.
Worth the money
The greens are very consistent and well maintained, fairways are in good condition. There are many choices in the tees, so everybody can enjoy the game using the ones that better suits them.
good course to stay in practice
Had High School Region Play Offs tee off 15 minutes before our tee time. Waited at least 1/2 hour at each hole there where so many kids. Golf Now should Not have taken tee times at this course nor should the golf course allowed any open play. Kids where taking their time at each hole trying to make every shot count and if I was still in High School I would absolutely do the same! Started at noon off at 6 pm
Convenience
Love the course. Did not know they had just plugged and sanded. I know it is required but I would like to know about unusual conditions.
