Good short game course
This is a real nice executive course. The card says it's a par 60 but probably should be a 58 or 59. It has a couple of blind shot or nearly blind shot goofy holes.
But it is a very nice course to sharpen your short game. The greens are very good. We have seen bob cats & gators.
nice par 3
Course is in good condition and the greens were nice too
Nice Executive type Course
The course was well maintained and fun to play-lots of water. I prefer a course with less par 3;s but there were some challenging par 3s.
Best executive course we have found
Our play was on a very hot (record) Monday and was not a day for walkers. There is lots of water with fish and turtles to keep your (my) ball company. The course is tight to the out of bounds with only a few feet from there to the houses. Hitting a house is a real possibility. There are quite a few bunkers, but the sand was pretty soft so getting out was not a big problem. As far as shape goes, it was far and away the best we have found in 2.5 weeks of playing this area of Florida.
The greens are on the slow side. If you are considering walking be aware that some holes have a long distance from green to the next tee. Don't walk on a hot day, you will regret it. The restaurant and 19th hole appear to be closed on Mondays.
Pace of play
The 4some ahead of us were obviously playing for wives or mortgages because they took forever on EVERY shot including 1 or 2 foot putts. There was no common sense nor marshal to speed play.
Also playing the course for the first time made some shots a mystery. Pix of each hole on the card or posted at the tee box would have been very helpful.
The course condition, staff and 19th hole were all great.
Nice day of golf
Course was in good condition it was just nice day of golf
A fun challenge!
This is a course you will either love or hate. It is not your average executive course. For me, it is a challenge. I want to keep coming back to conquer. There is water in play on almost every hole. The greens are undulating. There are holes like you will never see on any other course. Like a 175 yard par 3 surrounded by water and sand that you can't see from the tee. You must go over trees or hit a vicious slice. I love it.
great course to challenge short game
Enjoyed the course pace was good difficult don't recommend for beginners houses to close to fairway, great walking course if you're out for some exercise, completed 18 holes in less than 4 hours
Challenge for Everybody
Pleasantly challenging course for any level of golfer. (For example, try a round from the forward tees.) Really rewards a good short game. Greens are "interesting" to read. One of best maintained in the area.
challenging greens
We only played 9 holes (starting o the 10th) and found the course fairly short but the greens quite challenging.
I have played the front nine in the past and don't find the greens as challenging. Pace of play slow, but not as bad as some area courses.
Very nice course.
Very nice course. Played with a threesome & had a good time. Pace of play extremely slow on first nine, overall took over 4hours.
Enjoyed the experience however.
very friendly
very good shape well maintained, very good greens, will go again
a FUN course to play if relaxing and you enjoy an executive Course
Great condition - Front Line pricing high but at discounted rate a fun day.
Rather Unfriendly
The course is what I would expect from an executive par 60 course and is fairly well maintained. I don't know if I caught them on a bad day or they just don't care for Golfnow customers but both men behind the counter in the pro-shop were very abrupt and down right unfriendly. Not something I am accustomed to experiencing from a facility that would normally be looking for return business. Rest assured they will not get any additional business from me.
Nice par 60 course
We had a great time and some of the holes and pins were very challenging.
Great game played by all
We were 4 ladies that played together, the course was not busy and we played 18 holes in 3 hours and 20 minutes. The course is in very good condition, staff extremely helpful and friendly. If you are a womwn and you have never played here before, you will find No. 6 tee block a little different. We really enjoyed our day at King's Gate.
