price was reasonable for what we got
price was reasonable for what we got
much improved
The course is under renovation and greens have improved a lot
Small but interesting
Don't be fooled by the location in a 55+ community. This shorter course has more than enough water and narrow fairways (one with no fairway) to make it a decent challenge. The one hole parallel to I-75 with a massive highway billboard on the right side of the fairway was a unique experience. Quiet golf carts, nice 19th hole and friendly staff; definitely worth a repeat visit.
Golf course OK.
For the fee of $20.00 with cart, value was OK. However because of the many real short par 3's and par 4's, course was not a real challenge. Front 9 was not in real good shape, back nine was a little greener, guess because a good portion was viewable from Interstate 75.. I believe that at their reg price of $30.00 is too high for this course.
This course has great features Happy staff
Smile
Because this area has had a lot of rain lately, there was a couple holes that were soggy, But I'm sure all the courses in this area are the same. Our main goal when we go out golfing is to have fun, enjoy the sun and the company. All in which I did.
Cheers
Glad
If you just want to out out and play golf.. its great !
The golf shop person said the course was in very good shape. He wasn't truthful. The greens were long, bumpy and had bare spots. The fairways were below average, but very playable. Sand traps were in surprisingly good shape. It had some very interesting holes ( your tee shot had to go over the top of, or underneath a huge I-75 sign.. it sticks out in the middle of the fairway.) Plenty of water, one par 3 was about 40 yards wide the entire 140 yards.. anything but a straight ball was in trouble. If you are a serious golfer, you won't be happy, but if you just want to go out and hit the ball and have fun, it is well worth the less than $30 to play
Nice course - Lots of water
BHP is an interesting course with lots of water features that need to be considered when deciding on the next shot. Good value for money with cart incl.
literally a cornfield
Very disappointing - i think it was once a cow pasture turned into a bad golf course. We played the back nine first and got around in on hour. Mostly short holes with no fairways. The rough was terrible but the fairways were worse. The front nine is where it slowed down to a snails pace. The course has no scenic holes and is boring. We got it online for very little and after we finished we both though we were robbed.
The course has no challenge what so ever.
Poorly layer out with know real difference in in the holes!
sprinklers running
we paid for 18 got to 8th hole and sprinklers were on same on 9th went to clubhouse, they called maintiance which said come back and play we will turn them off it was to wet and then we say the sprinklers going on the back 9 so we asked for a raincheck
Blue Herons Pasture
Course is in terrible condition. The rough is all weeds and needs cut and the greens are terrible. The ball actually bounces on some putts as it rolls over debri and dead grass. Actually worse than last year. It is like playing in a field or a pasture.
This course was fun to play.
For a par three excec course it was niece to be able to use all your clubs. Greens at this time of the year were rough and patchy spots. They did not put true and were not cut. Good course to practice your shot game.
Course not bad
I made a reservation for 1:30. When I checked in they advised me that they would be closing at 3:00. I paid for 18 but had to rush to get in 9. They would not give me a voucher for the other 9.
Blue Heron Pines - Punta Gorda
It's the end of 'the season' here in Fla. The course shows some wear and tear from the prior season's activity. But it was a good experience. Make your own prudent accommodations for some of the rough spots that may need some touching up. But, the 3200 yard course has lots of water around it and some of the fairways are quite narrow. Accuracy and shot-making is required vs long drivers. The course is built among modular homes and home sites but everything is well marked, people are friendly and the course is fun for a quick 18.
Prices are great too, especially thru Golfnow.com.
wow!
The fairways are like rough and the greens are like fairways. On the 10th tee there is a huge billboard smack in the middle of the fairway! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
Crab Grass
Fairways are not what you expect from a Florida course. There was crab grass EVERYWHERE and the greens were very fuzzy.
Unsatisfactory course
Course looked like a goat farm! Fairways nonexistent, greens bare spots hard as a rock..the tee box's were alittle rough.
You get what you pay for
We played 9 holes in just under an hour, that's the good news. The fairways if you can call them that were as hard as a rock. Maybe there is no irrigation system there. The ball machine for the range gave us one full basket and the second basket had 8 balls in it. Being that it was our first time out this year it wasn't horrible, but we probably should have spent the extra money and played a course that was in better condition.
A Great Round with My Grandson!
The staff was friendly, helpful & efficient. We were able to get out early ahead of 2 ladies groups. They were so polite & encouraging, but we could not stay ahead of them fast enough....so, we let them play through. They were so gracious & we slowed it up a bit. The 2nd group of ladies never caught up to us. This is a very decent executive course that was great for playing with a beginner...also, a great practice course for the short game. It wasn't Pebble Beach, but the price was right & the course provided a fun 3 hours of golf with my favorite golfing buddy...My Grandson. He beat me & had a memorable day golfing with his Grandpop...so did I! We will be back.
