GTC was great as always. A beautiful course. So glad its back on Golfnow for us non-members to play. Tee boxes and fairways are in tremendous shape. Sand traps were like concrete from recent rain and like most courses around, bunkers don't seem to get tended to as much during the Covid-era. A few greens have some burnt spots, but still roll pretty true, but slower than I remember. And GTC seems to have the same issue a lot of courses do right now, though not their fault. Golfers have apparently forgotten to be courteous and repair ball marks on greens. Seems to be an epidemic everywhere. The only problem today was pace of play. Took nearly 5 hours, thanks to a 4some of yahoos, more interested in their conversations, then keeping up pace of play. They also were very reluctant to let others play through. Marshalls finally spoke to them at the 13th tee and got them to pick up the pace. But by 15, they were back to a crawl. They weren't the greatest golfers, which is fine, but be respectful of others on the course and allow them to play through.

But GTC is a gem as always and I will be back, as long as it stays on Golfnow!

Overall, this was a great track. Tee boxes and fairways were perfect. I gave 4/5 for conditions because traps needed a bit more sand (or just don’t be me and avoid them) and greens needed some love. Ball marks needed repair and I think due to all the rain there were some greens that had fungus or spots that were pretty rough. Again, overall, excellent course!

Took advantage of the "member for a day" privalege through Golf Now and had an overall great day of golf today. The course is very long from the Black tees (+7200), but still very playable for average golfers with Blue (+6200) yards still offering a couple 500 yd par 5s and a 185 yd par 3. Like other players, we were told to play the back nine first (obviously to avoid interrupting members morning play on the front nine). Checkin was easy, with a beautiful club house and lots of fun memorabilia for those interested in swag. The course condition was fair (not as nice as I expected honestly); seems the members DO NOT REPAIR their ball marks on the greens as many of them looked terribly pocketed. The fairways were dead/hard in some spots (including around the greens) and the staff were actually rolling INSIDE the bunkers...and cutting/blowing grass clippings all over us during the round. The course has hardly any signage or yardage markers (only on tee boxes [to the front], and a very sparce number of sprinkler heads. Otherwise, there were no 150 stakes, numbers on the cart path, nor any colored domes in the fairway...you will need a yardage book, laser, or gps watch for this course. The greens were really soft and you could tell they were capable of being absolutely gorgeous, I felt really bad for them and kept repairing dozens of ball marks to try and help myself and others. The cart girl and grill kid at the turn were all very nice and had lots of good choices for burgers, dogs, chips and drinks. Overall it was fun to experience this private course, but I dont think I'll go out of my way (or pay $100 a person again) to play it. There are LOTS of nice courses in North GA that are as nice or better and half the price. If you live in this community or area, it's certainly a serious contender for a nice home course though.

Greeens were terrible. Everyone in our group was fairly disappointed.

I always thought Governors was a treat each year since they made the course available on GN. I'm sure the members paid a lot to be members. However this year I see the course continue to decline. Greens are iffy with some really in poor condition. Bunkers not raked. Just generally more like any other semi-private club in the Atlanta metro. Which is to say, not worth the $90 PLUS the GN charges. But with covid, courses can charge whatever they want and we have to pay it.

Thoroughly enjoyed being a ‘Member for a Day.’ Will return one day, and while the price was a pretty coin, the value was solid. Well maintained. Greens were fun to putt on. Rolled true.

This is a great course, love everything about it including the ammeneities. Carts do not have GPS so bring your own. The setup of this course is through a neighborhood and has a lot of places where your ball will get lost in the brush and woods if you spray it. Had lots of carries too. The only reason I didn’t give everything 5-stars was because of the greens. I am so tired of people not respecting or leaving the course in better shape than they found it. The greens are very soft, they are doing a great job not drying out however, with soft greens comes ball marks....... and a lot of them and they just need to be respected. Are the horrible? Are they unputtable? NO, they still roll good and respond good. They do have signs “fix your divot, plus one”. I truly enjoy this course and am so thankful that I have the opportunity to play it. You’ll truly enjoy this course and you will too. I probably came after a busy weekend, give it a go and you won’t be disappointed either.

GTC is a top notch course that offers plenty of challenge but is beautiful and also fun to play! The course was in awesome shape, pace of play was perfect, and we had a great time. We were welcomed and treated very nicely by all the staff and made us truly feel like members for a day! An awesome value for the money. This is a top place to play in north Metro Atlanta! Can’t go wrong!

Green complexes are pretty beat up.... few feel the need to repair their ball marks.

Former member here when the course was actually paid attention to. It has gone so badly downhill with all the public play that its really sad to continue to watch the grounds and conditions get worse and worse. Used to be full of flowers, and nice pine straw or mulch and it was mowed and there werent dead trees everywhere and weeds on the greens which are just piled up with ball marks that poor public golfers dont ever care to address. The traps here are abysmal, always have been. It has one of thee best layouts around but just poor managing of the course has REALLY hurt the value of this place...sadly

Course is good shape, could not believe that let us take carts on the course on Saturday after the rain we had. Totally appreciate it as I am 70, but there were a lot of wet areas that we worked around. Sand traps are in bad shape, but not many courses have good sand traps right now. Several exciting and fun holes, like the lay out. Price was a little steep, but I did play on Saturday.
