Governor's Towne Club

Governor's Towne Club is easily the best course north/northwest of Atlanta that is currently open for daily play. I say currently because I'm sure this course will go back private as soon as the economy picks back up. I strongly encourage everyone to play it now while you still can.

The day I played here it was pouring rain in the golf tournament that I was in. We only got to play nine holes because the back nine was to saturated. The clubhouse I got vey familiar to after 3 thunder delays. The clubhouse was in great shape as well as the food. From the holes on the front nine the course was fantastic but very hard. From what I saw on the front nine this course deserved a five star rating. The putting green and driving range where great and the greens rolled as true as they can. My only complaint would be the driving range was a little small for a large golf tournament outing. Overall this course is great and is ranked in the top 20 best courses in Georgia.

Greens were in rough shape.

Staff creating us were very helpful and friendly. Clubhouse staff also friendly. Course was in great shape and pace of play was perfect. Wish they had yardage book, but otherwise it was a great day. Will be back.

I really enjoyed playing this course. The bent grass greens were a little slow, and had some had rough patches. The rest of the course is immaculate. Easily a top Atlanta course.

I thoroughly enjoyed my round at this course. Its a great track for players of every skill level. The layout forces you to think about every shot and you will pull every club out the bag before you walk off the 18th green. The conditions were great other than the bent greens that appeared to have been infected and taken a beating from the summer heat.

Great layout and fun course to play. Only gave 3 stars due to the fact their greens is in a poor state right now. Was great over the last month or two but now they are bad. Every other aspect of the course and staff is a delight for for any golfer.

The course is well maintained, the greens are consistent and the tee boxes are impeccable!! This is the course to play if you're looking for one of the best in GA!!

Played this course on a hot Sunday in July. The course was in great shape, one of the best I have seen in a few years. The bent greens were in great shape even with the 95+ degree temps we have been having. If you get a chance it is worth the drive, you wont believe you are in Acworth. Don't miss it if you get a chance.

Best Course in the area. Tough but fair

Just long enough to make it difficult. Staff is great practice area is top notch. Put this place on your list of courses to play.

The course was in great shape, very well maintained. It was a challenging course but not over demanding. The staff including one of the cart guys were great. One of the nicest courses I have played. Very well priced for such a pretty course. We look forward to playing it again next week. Be proud Governors!

Course conditions are brilliant. The greens are not a 10, but close. Wish people would repair their pitch marks. Fairways & Tee boxes are pristine. At some point this course is going to go Private, so get out there before it does.

Can't wait to go back

Course is in excellent condition. I only rated this course as moderately easy because I'm a senior and played the white tees. Gives the best of golfers a challenge if you play the gold or blues. Staff was very attentive and the club manager introduced us to our playing partners and then looked us up after the round to make sure we enjoyed ourselves.

Awesome course in great shape and very fun. Staff was the most friendly I have seen. This course is challenging, but fair. A must play.

Had a great experience at this course!

Loved the sand trap locations that seemed to come into play every hole. The gold tees were a challenge welcomed and the course was in amazing condition. Speedy greens felt like I was a professional

The course was immaculate and forgiving. Beautiful views and very nice homes to ogle at.

The course was in perfect shape when I played. Play here while you still can - it will be totally private once the clubhouse is complete. They don't allow cargo shorts if that is any indication of the atmosphere...

This course is nice enough to host a professional tournament.
