Riverside is usually in good shape and reasonably priced. We happened to catch it on a day just after they had plugged the fairways so conditions were not up to normal. On top of that the recent drought has left the greens and fairways hard and dry. The regulars must have known of these current conditions as course was empty (we played as a threesome in just over three hours). Once this area starts getting rain again this course should be back to it’s normally good conditions. Sherm (inside) and Danny (marshal) were friendly and accommodating. Hope to return soon and can recommend this courses.

It was our first time playing the course and for the most part we were pleasantly surprised. The tee boxes are in repair (aerated and grass a little longer), the greens were very good but a little slower than other courses but no disease spots like the others, fairway was in pretty good shape but the rough is very rough where you need to roll to grass to continue to play.

One irritation I have with courses is if they don't have water on the course given the excessive rates we pay most of the year. Here they have water at the clubhouse so I assumed there would be water on the course too. Instead, all we found was a pop machine at the 12th hole where we had to spend 7.50 for 2 waters to stay hydrated. If they would tell you there's no other water, we would bring our own or get 2 cups at the clubhouse. We should have asked but it's just silly not to have a jug or two along the way or tell people when they check in to bring more with them.

Love this course for the challenges it presents. Some bare spots in fairway, but not bad overall.

The wind and layout off this course make it challenging. Played several times within last 6 months. Pace was a challenge when we ran into a course regular foursome of elderly gentleman. Once they cleared out at hole 12, pace picked up tremendously.

In town on a work trip and had some downtime. Booked a tee time online. Have never played in this area before. After arriving at the course, and checked in, I was asked if I had ever played here before. When I told them no, the gentleman behind the counter came out and said “let me show you around”. (This was a first for me, most people in the golf shop just tell you where to go and never leave from behind the counter). He was genuinely a nice person and showed me where the first tee was, how to get there, where the ice and water machine was, and gave me the option to go ahead and tee off now, or hit some chips and putts. I felt like I was being treated like a celebrity in a way.

As for the course, it is deceiving. At first glance of the card it appears to be fairly short. However the layout is great and a player will have a lot of “risk vs reward” decisions to make. Yes, as with a lot of courses this time of the year, there are some areas where the grass is patchy and the greens putt a little slow for my liking, but I enjoyed every aspect and the challenge. Definitely recommend.

The tees are fine, the fairways are O.K. but they are thin and some bare spots so you might have to move the ball a little. The greens are good but painfully slow. They really need to speed them up a little.
