About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Greens are true and great condition
The course conditions are horrible (except the greens which are exceptional). Clearly the Supt. knows what he is doing on the greens. To bad it did not translate to the fairways and tee boxes. Most are dirt or dried grass
Nice old course
Challenging layout from blue tees. Houses are tight on the right on many holes. Playing partner lost a few due to his slice. Greens were in good shape although I had a tough putting day. The only reason I didn’t rate higher was the fairways. Very dry and missing lots of grass.

Fun Course
Greens were in pretty good shape but the tee boxes and some areas on most fairways need a lot of work,
Great price for a course in the area on a Saturday and an enjoyable round. Marshall kept the pace moving, we finished in a little over 4 hrs.

Staff very friendly and accomodating!
Fairways extremely dry and need of water.
Tee boxes and greens in pretty good condition.
Great course to work on your game!
Nice course for seniors
We were a threesome ages ranging from 30-60 yrs. Pace of play considering most players were 70+ was good. Tee blocks and fairways in rough shape (very dry and sparse) but greens were beautiful and challenging. Water and sand traps nice challenge. Disappointed there were no beverage carts or break at hole 9 to grab a drink or snack. Overall average course and decent price for average or below average golfer.

Much Improved Conditions, Excellent Staff
Played a mid-day weekend round as a single. Was paired up with a very nice twosome. Conditions were challenging as sustained winds were over 20 MPH, with gusts approaching 30 MPH. Round went quickly with no waiting, although course was not crowded. Starter and pro shop staff were friendly and accommodating. Conditions were much improved over the last time I played this course (over a year ago). Greens were quick and true. Sand traps were in good shape. Tee boxes were not so great, but this was the only (minimal) drawback. Would return again, especially at the price point this course offers.

Lots of Water
Course conditions were very dry. Despite that, greens were very slow. However, lots of water along fairways with lots of opportunities to lose balls.

Another great day at Riverside...Course in great condition grreens ever so clean...Professional and friendly staff....
Disappointed
Teed off between 11AM and noon. No food available at that time. Since course did not return to pro shop area, only saw one vending machine the entire round. Greens in good shape, the rest of the course average to below condition.

Greens were ok but the fairways were hard and very little grass. Course needed watering.
