About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Nice course, just tough to find the pro shop.
The only negative I have about the experience was finding the pro shop. There’s no signage anywhere to tell you where it is. Outside of that, it’s a really nice course. Fairways are wide, but long par 4s and 5s make it a nice challenge. Water hazards are not extremely wide, but stay in play with their length along the fairways. If I’m ever back this way again, I will absolutely play it again.
Just OK
Disappointed, as the course was not in as good as shape as last year. Greens were fine, bunkers were nice, but fairways are really thin & had several bad areas where it was basically, just dirt. Surprised, because we found this course last year and played it several times, and the fairways were very thick & plush. Not sure what happened....maybe all the rain with the Hurricanes this year flooded out some turf & it just never recovered. Still a sporty little track & a good value for the price.

We played yesterday and everything went well until group behind started to get close to us. This happened a couple of times so we pulled over and let them go ahead. We continued to play when we arrived at a par three. The group we had let through were still on the green so we waited. while waiting for the group the Marshall came up and said things were backing up behind us. We told him about letting the group go through and now we were waiting. The Marshall then left and we played up to the green and he again pulled up when we were on the green. He waited there until we walked back to our carts and he said we had to skip the next two holes. I was not happy and tried to explain the above but he just said we had to skip two holes. We then proceeded and bypass the group we waited for and bypassed two holes and start again on the third hole. The Marshall followed right behind us as if we wouldn’t bypass the two holes. At the end of 18 hole we then played one and two to get in18 holes. Once back at our vehicle it was four hours since we started. Not Happy with the Marshall.
Good course
Course was in good shape. Fairways are open but challenging. Pace of play was good. Three hours forty five minutes for our foursome to play 18.
