About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Great layout
Great course to play after it rains. They are trying to make some changes to help bring the course up to a better playing level.

Nice shape. Played fast
My daughter and I were to tee off at 11:45. Got there early and they let us go right away. Only saw a couple of other golfers all day. Played in 3 hours. Greens, fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers were all very good condition.

Greens
First time playing this course. Many of the fairways are narrow off the tee. My biggest concern was the inconsistency of the greens. My golf partner and I struggled to find the speed. It seemed to vary from green to green making scoring difficult. I think this was more apparent on the back nine as I personally had 4 three putts and that was a first for me this season.
I would pass this course and play River Run or Buffalo Creek...much more enjoyable courses.

Hoss
Fairways and tee boxes were in terrible shape. Pace of play was very good. No one in front or behind us. Staff was very nice. They said they just fixed irrigation so it should get better

Hot day but nobody hardly on the course

Fairways are cut thin but the greens were great.
Nice place for couples to play

Nice but tee boxes need a lot of work. The fairways are narrow but playable. Water is in 14 of the 18 holes.
A little rough on senior players but playable. The tee boxes were dirt, but hey, you tell it up anyway, except for maybe par 3’s.
The Staff is excellent and friendly.
The fairways were a little narrow with all the homes close.
Water on 14 of the 18 holes with some hidden ponds.
All in all it’s a good course and it was a good day. A very good price when the snow birds are still nesting in the sun.
We drove north 27 miles from Bradenton to try it, and you should also.
