Riverside Golf Course

Only complaint I have is that is was really slow, I mean like 10 minutes between swings. We quit at hole 14. As we made our way to the clubhouse we could see the reason why it was so slow - a twosome on 16, no one in front of them for 2 holes. Where's the marshal?

Nice course but needs watering badly

Nice course to play, however very busy most of the day. Not a place to play if you are in a hurry. Otherwise great value.

2nd time playing. Greens are very nice as well as the bunkers( nice fluffy & raked sand) & tee boxes (level with good grass). Pace was excellent....4 hours for a 4some, and very few others on the course. Course is very tight, with houses very close to almost all the fairways, and most often water on the other side....definitely not a course for bad slicers! A pretty short course, but have to make shots to score. The only negative on the course is the fairways are cut very short & quite thin, which seems to be the norm for most FL courses for some strange reason. I was told they have just completed renovating their irrigation system, so hopefully with some warmer weather they'll be able to grow the grass a little plusher on fairways. It was a tad better this time than 2 weeks ago when played here for the first time. Hopefully that trend continues!!! For the price, definitely will come back.

Many holes bordered closely by manufactured homes. Design makes it even tougher with lakes or OB down the side opposite the homes. You gotta be straight or it will be a long day. As others have said, greens are in really good shape. Traps have the fluffiest sand I've ever played, which made them super tough.

We played on a perfect day for golf.

We played in mid February and this was one of the only courses that had a morning tee time available for 2 golfers (booked 2 days in advance).

The best part of the course are the greens and fairway bunkers. The greens roll smooth and the fairway bunkers had fresh white sand. Tee boxes were also in nice shape.

Apparently new irrigation system was installed but the fairways haven’t showed it yet. Most of the grass in fairways and rough was dormant which resulted in very right lies and hard pan conditions.. being from up north and playing most of my golf on bentgrass and zoysia grasses I had a difficult time striking the ball effectively.

It appeared like playing two different nines. The front nine had older manufactured houses / trailers that were very close and “in play” as one of the gentleman we got paired up with found out. He rattled one off the trailer and was met by the owner scolding him for his errant shot,

When back nine was more wide open and is routed through a newer and much nicer manufactured home community.. these home and pavers in driveways and nice screened in living areas with pools.

The community also has some nice amenities with pools and tennis courts. There is a golf cart in every garage and I assume this is where many of the members live and they take pride in their yards and community.

If you are visiting in town this is a great place to play your first round to knock the rust off. It was one of the better places to play with a rate under 50 bucks.I would compare conditions to Buffalo creek or Manatee golf courses.

Overall a fun course with great people.

I gave the course overall 2 stars because the only decent thing about the course is the greens, they roll decent and are running at a 8 maybe 9 on the stimp. The layout of the course is okay.

Another negative is that when they have members playing, there is no ranger so they play slow and there's no one to move players along.

The picture is of the 14th hole, some areas need to be marked off as ground under repair.

Late getting us off 1st tee. Very slow play 4.75 hour rd. Fairways have very little grass hard to hit good shots. Greens were decent. Traps very good.
