About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Recommend - good value
Super friendly staff. Electric cart ran well. Unusual lack rain fall has made fairways an roughs sketchy. Rough is are aerated showing they’re trying.
The greens were very good with new strain of grass.
Getting Better!
Nice, short little track, with just enough difficulty to force you to make shots to score. Tees, Greens & Bunkers all in great shape, however fairways still thin with a few bare spots here & there. Roughs also very thin, but have recently been aerated ( rarely seen at FL courses), so it's obvious management is trying. With summer rains just around the corner, and with their new irrigation system, hopefully a plan for over seeding & fertilizing fairways & roughs, this little gem would sparkle!!! Its just tough to hit lob & gap wedges on approaches with the very thin lies that currently exist. But again, 3rd time playing here, and every time has been a bit better. Hopefully overseeing & fertilizing are being planned!! VERY friendly staff, and a good value. Keep up the good work guys!!!

Great little course with friendly staff. Pace of play was slow. Lots of wildlife to see and a few challenging holes.

Good value for the money
Nice layout, friendly staff. Lots of water makes the course challenging. Fairways need attention, and we’re the biggest disappointment of the course.

Okay for the money
Fairways are very thin. Tee boxes are thin too. Greens are in great shape. Love the grumpy old man who thinks any golfer that can't hit a perfectly straight drive should play elsewhere (the side of his home along the 17 fairway takes a beating). Great staff. They even have a starter and a ranger. Cypress Creek could learn from their staff at Riverview.

Greens were in good shape, but several fairways were extremely dried out and needed water and seed

Okay for now
I'm only recommending the course because of the price, it actually is overpriced right now, but is cheaper than anywhere else except for the claw at USF. They are trying to revive parts of the course.
The layout is also worth trying, I think they need a ranger on some days, but most of their golfers are members and their members expect to have it their way.

Nice track! I love that it is spread out. No hole that goes up and then down sharing the same fairways. Greens were excellent. Lots of green side bunkers making the approach challenging.
