About
Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin is part of a peaceful retirement community. At just over 6,100 yards from the tips, the golf course is on the short side but it still offers an enjoyable round. From the back tees, the course actually presents quite a formidable test. The layout meanders along a creek before wandering across idyllic farmland and finishing along the river bluffs overlooking Hayes Bayou. The diverse terrain provides an array of scenery as well as a variety of different challenges. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides, waiting to swallow errant shots. Riverside Golf Club's layout combines more difficult holes with player-friendly features, which makes it approachable for players of any skill level.

Not bad
Greens are in pretty good shape. Fairways are open and forgiving for the most part. They were redoing some of the irrigation system so some of the fairways were a little rough but nothing major. Overall I would recommend. Fun course. If you hit it long play the blues.

Getting better all the time!
I’ve played this course about 20 times and the course conditions just keep getting better and better. They have installed all new irrigation, fixing the cart paths and treating the greens recently. I’ll remain a regular player at this course for sure!

Course being worked on
You can see the course is being worked on. Green are very good and true. Some fairway are good but some are just sand. Tee box's are okay. Looks like they are building some new t boxes

Needs work
They are working on putting in new irrigation system but a lot of the fairways remain dry and dusty. 18 Fairway has been completely torn up and doesn't roll. The greens were for the most part pretty good. I can't recommend Riverside right now but when they finish the work and get the fairways back in shape I will be back.

Poor Conditions
I’m no golf snob, but if I had to make a suggestion regarding the course, they should close for a year, fertilize, water, plug and hope the course comes back.

Good place to golf
I like this place. We have golfed here a handful of times. This last time was a bit challenging as they were doing some repairs and maintenance throughout the course. But in all, we have enjoyed playing here and our little dog enjoys riding on the cart and watching us. I enjoy being her being able to ride along instead of being left at home.
My husband doesn't like how close the houses are to the course but it doesn't bother me much.
They do try to keep it clean and well cared for.
Bring your own drinks and snacks as they do not have a cart to purchase anything from. They have restrooms and a drink machine near a couple of the tee boxes but that's it.
The staff has always been friendly and kind.
We will be golfing here again.

Under Construction
The first hole was closed due to drainage work and it was clear that the work would continue on other holes for some time. One of the problems with this course is that play can be very slow. On this round we skipped a hole to get passed a really slow foursome. Otherwise, the pace of play was good. The course is in reasonable shape other than the areas of work.

Dry
Played the course today, the overall layout is fine and interesting, however the course is extremely dry. I understand we've had a lack of rain and they are working on installing an irrigation system but just commenting on the conditions experience today. I would wait on playing this course till the irrigation is installed or the courses naturally watered.
