Abbey Course At St. Leo University, The

Lost (and found) multiple Balls literally on the fairway because the grass is WAY too high. If the grass were proper height this place would be perfect for learning or laid back rounds.

Unfortunately I can’t recommend the course because you will lose more money in balls on your FAIRWAY shots than it would cost to pay a higher green fee and play elsewhere.

Staff members were friendly. Most greens were fine to play. I can’t stress enough how bad the “fairways” were though.

Did I mention the fairways need a lot of TLC?

The property is spectacular. The course is a mess and we spent a lot of time looking for our balls, but we are beginners and the price was right. Spending time in the great outdoors on that hilly, woodsy course was a blast. Hadn't played there in years. Wish someone would sink some money into it. Better signs would be great. Years ago Walmart tried to buy the property...WALMART! That would have ruined the college and the land. I hope the course has a resurrection at some point. The course was unexpectedly busy...Ended the day at the Dade City Brewery for yummy food and beers.

My buddies and I enjoy playing courses that are new to us. The Abbey is a mature course with some tricky holes and a lot of large trees. Some of the greens were in good shape, while others need work. I don't recall many (any?) sand traps and little water.

The biggest improvement here would come from better turf on the fairways as we had to continually improve our lies. Overall, it was an OK course at a good price and not crowded at all. Not very difficult or challenging overall.

Goat ranch style course with surprisingly decent greens. Fairway grass was longer than the rough. Staff was friendly and you can’t beat the price. Back 9 is a little goofy with a short par 6 10th hole and 4 par 3’s but again a great practice course all things considered. Finished my round in under 2 hours which I LOVED!

Nice DAY GREAT WEATHER NOT TO HOT WIFE HAD GREAT TIME EXCEPT FOR PORT BATHROOM NOT TO CLEAN OK FOR ME I HAD TON OAK TREES ON THE TRACK. OVERALL HAD GREAT TIME HAVE TO SUCK OUT THE OLD BUD AND BURGERS FROM PORT BATHROOMS.

Had a ball. I’ll be back for sure. Love the elevation changes and fast rolling fairways.

So many people put this course down. The people in the shop are always nice.

The fairways are less then great! Many are pretty bad but we just move our ball onto grass. We played Disney the week before and the Abbey greens are almost as good. Can't figure out how they do it. For the price it can't be beat. PS: I only have one arm and I HATE sand traps but I rarely go into one at the Abbey. Lastly the foliage is beautiful there this time of years!!!!! .

I played this course several times before around three years ago and I gotta say the course is in great shape now . I will be back

We have played this course twice now. The tees & Green are in very good condition. The fairways, while good, could used an irrigation system. Other than that, good value and always a fun play. We'll be back.

Tee box’s were bad nothing level. Greens were crazy in level and not kept up
