Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Course is very dry, carts are old and no gps like Warrior
Not any selection in clubhouse for food or liquor. Good golf course.
Two for Tuesday
I played on their 22 dollar special and it took over 2 and a half hours to play nine holes. Next time I will pay the 39 dollar on a weekday. It was worse than playing on a Saturday. The only way I will play on a Tuesday is if it is raining, freezing, or snowing. Nine holes for 22 dollars is not a great deal. The fellow I was paired up with said this was the worst golf experience he had had in a long time.
Excellent!
Red Bridge is such a good course on so many different levels. First, and foremost there is a great mix of holes. The front 9 features three par 3s and three par 5s, which keeps things interesting. The course also features several holes with huge fairways where you can wail away with the driver. Conversely, there are also several holes that require a strategically placed tee shot to avoid trouble. There are a few forced carries off of some tees, but none of the carries is exceptionally long. The challenge often comes around the greens, as there are often mounds and swails around the putting surfaces that make getting up and down tricky. The greens themselves also have plenty of movement in them. Putting yourself on the right side of the hole is key. The tees and fairways all had ample amounts of grass on them. The bermuda rough was thick, but not long enough that you couldn't muscle a ball out of it. The greens are simply some of the best in the area. They are MiniVerde, and I don't know if this is the best time of year for MV greens, or what, as I've found other courses with MV greens in this area are also in excellent shape. The greens are silky smooth and seem to hold up to heavy traffic exceptionally well. I was the last person off on a holiday weekend Saturday, and the greens were still in excellent shape. There weren't many ball marks, and the greens were lightning quick, even at the end of the day. The clubhouse is just a trailer. This course opened just at the beginning of the last recession, and was supposed to have an adjoining housing development and permanent clubhouse. Those two things never materialized when the economy went south. Ownership of the course has changed hands since that point, and the new owners have decided to invest in the course itself rather than a clubhouse. There are a few houses starting to pop up around the course, but it is still very much a parkland course. For the outstanding quality of the course, you can usually find a decent to good rate on GolfNow. I paid $16 for a late twilight round on a Saturday.
Great Day 4 Golf
Course was in nice shape. Greens rolled well, fairways in decent shape. The pace of play was very slow. A five plus hour round. Hit and wait. Hurt, hit and wait. Thankfully the temp was nice with low humidity. Not my first time playing but will definitely play it again. Course trends to get backed up but overall, an enjoyable round.
I want to come back
A very nice course, no houses (yet) Greens in great shape, although they could cut a new hole a little more frequent. MiniVerde is a nice surface, greens were quick but not overly fast, watch the grain! A truly enjoyable round, paired up with a nice guy, went out as a twosome behind a foursome that played fairly quick, but eventually let us through, no real waiting on any hole as we used the extra time to think and learn the course. A true mix of shots, blind tee shots, blind approach shots, forced layups, keep left, keep right. Plenty of room, some water, elevated tees, elevated greens. Of course the down side for most courses in this area is bermuda rough, some cases the ball just sits down in the deep stuff, other times it sit up top waiting for you to go under it, I do not like this grass, and it feels the same about me, stay in the fairway! Even came with great weather the day I played. Pro shop staff very friendly. Play later in the day and get a wine slushy after the first, I hear they are good...
Great course
Always been a favorite course in the CLT Area. A little hidden gem.
Excellent golf and fun
My wife and I picked up a hot tee time deal. The young man working behind the counter was the nicest kid. He was very informative, telling us about the course. He also recommended the vineyard at the end of the first hole, the wine slushies are amazing. The greens ran so true and quick, love those bermudas. Fairways were dry, but they were having drought conditions. Tee boxes were very good. This course is a gem!
Interesting and challenging course
First time to play this very challenging course. Interesting design but so much rough and so many creeks to cross it was difficult to maintain handicap. That said, would still play again to challenge myself and enjoy the beauty of the course.
Great course and value
Love the five par 5s and five par 3s. Greens in great shape. Fun layout
Red Bridge
As always Red Bridge was in absolutely great shape. I play all over the Charlotte area and I would have to say that Red Bridge is probably one of the greatest hidden gems in the area. Also, being from Locust I like to support courses that help support the community and they definitely do that in my experience with them.
Nice course. A bit tough after 4th hole.
I've played this course a few times and I always enjoy it. It is the first course to charge me an additional cart fee when I sign up as a single and bring my daughter along to ride though. Other than that little detail no complaints.
Beautiful landscape and design
Took my boys for a final hoorah to a different course. Booked a great special rate to Red Bridge in Locust. Loved the course as it has some challenging sight lines with the rolling hills. Greens were recently punched, however, still rolled well. Thanks for a great experience, we will be back!
Good Course, Faster greens than most
This is a nice course at the Cabarrus/Stanley County Line. Some good elevation changes and it's well maintained. My main gripe is the greens are much faster than most courses. Perhaps it has to do with the dry conditions.
course is great
Red bridge golf course is in wonderful shape. Greens are fast and challenging. Fairways are cut just right. Stay out of the rough they are not friendly.
Worth the drive out, great greens
Excellent greens were the highlight of the course which I put up there pretty high since that's where we take most of our shots as players. These were terrific and although recently verticut in very good shape and quick.
A course you need to see twice to get the sight lines on tee shots best understood.
Fairways were fast which produced longer net yardage on tee shots which was a welcome change to balls that don't roll out due to courses over watering to combat the heat. Played like a firm links style track but with really good turf which opened up the ground game and made for some fun shot making opportunities.
Club house staff was great; very friendly. Price was excellent for what you get. The winery on the #1 hole is pretty neat, the wine slushy (peach) is a pretty good hot day beverage and a good use of $5. Go play it.
Fantastic course!
We had never played Red Bridge, and took a flyer on their $15 green fee to give it a try. We were blown away! Layout was fantastic, one of the best I can remember. The greens had been aerated recently but they still rolled true and pretty fast. One of the most enjoyable rounds my buddy and I have ever had and we've played 150 rounds together.
Do not miss out on Red Bridge. You will be impressed! A must-play.
Very Nice Course
Love the course! Greens are excellent! Not a easy course either!
Good Course
Liked it! Had fun, could get used to it for the price!
great Value
Course was in great shape despite the heat we have been having. Highly recommend making the trip to visit the gem in Locust.
Best $17 I spent this year
Great condition , nice semi-speedy greens, good undulation. Some par fours are forced lay up holes. 5 par 5's I like par 5's most reachable from the tips.
I wouldn't recommend trying to walk this course as it has alot of distances between some holes 4 to 5 is really long.
