Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

A must play !
I play Red Bridge quite often and once again I wasn't disappointed. From tee to green course was in very good shape. If you ever get the chance. Stop by and play Red Bridge.
Hard for average golfer
Great course great layout, hard for beginners been playing 11 months.
I'm a 21 hcp and shot 121, tough day the 618 yard par 5 18th was brutal at the end. This place lit me up. My buddy is a 7 and put up an 80.
Course and greens were very good, well kept.
Thank you for your comment. We may start calling #18 "The Beast". We hope to see you soon.
Course
Poorly marked course..no course diagram at tee boxes... nor scorecard
Rude starter
We are sorry you had a bad experience. If you would please call the GM at (704) 781-5231, we would love to have you come out to see if we can do much better..
Quick round
Played on Saturday 5/21 at 1:45 after pretty good rains for two/three days. Was cart path only but wasn't nearly as wet as anticipated. Just two of us got around in 3 1/2 hours. Greens were great and approach shots were holding well. Definitely worth ride as round was $15 on discount site.
Thank you for our comment, we hope to see you soon.
Pace of play is really slow
We didn't get off until about 20 minutes past our tee time. We got to hole #6 where there was two groups still waiting to tee off. We had been on the course for right at 2 hours. I called the clubhouse and asked if they had a ranger and they didn't know. We skipped holes 6,7 and 8 and was still on the course for over 5 hours. This is about the 4th or 5th time that we had played the course and it's always slow. This will be my last trip.
We are sorry for your experience. We are hiring and training more starters/rangers to help with pace of play. We hope you will come out again and please call the new GM at (704) 781-5231 before you come out. Thank you.
2 hours & 30 minutes to play first 8 holes...
They over booked the course and let anyone play to make some money. Literally were waiting for 15 minutes after our tee time to start the first hole. Had to wait after every hole, no starter at all it was horrible.
We are sorry for your experience. We are hiring and training starters/rangers to help with the pace of play. We hope you come out again and please call the new GM before you make another tee time. Thank you.
Tee Times Optional
Booked a tee time for 1:49. Arrived at starter shack a bit early and waited until 2:25 to tee off. The round took 5 hours 15 minutes, while pace is 4:30. Course staff was nowhere to be found to speed up slow groups. The course was in great condition, but we did not enjoy the round. We waited after every shot. Please decrease the number of tee times per hour or send a Ranger to speed up play.
PS. Get the delicious wine slushies at hole #2

Red Bridge challenge
The course was great. Well maintained and greens were all fast. One of the most challenging courses in CLT area. Would have broke 80 if it wasn't for my bad play on 17 & 18!
Thank you for your comment. We hope to see you soon.
Very good value
This course is a very good value when using one of the golf deal websites.
Great Course
Course in very good condition.
Played like Augusta
The wind was up and greens were slick, made for a challenging round. I should have spent more time on the practice green, took me several holes to master the very fast greens. All in all a very good round. It's a great course, worth the drive from Charlotte
Red Bridge
Fun and challenging course. Great condition, especially the greens. Extremely friendly staff, Johnathan and the crew will take great care of you. It is an unbeatable value, completely worth the drive.
Hands down best quality to value in the CLT area.
I've played practically evey course in the charlotte metro, and red bridge is easily in the top tier of nicest layouts and designs. Great value at the clubhouse and tremendous value with golfnow. Greens are always pretty challenging yet well taken care of. Fairways are nice and tricky. Staff is friendly, and I love the small town feel of the locust area. What sets redbridge apart from other courses is the distance between holes. This gives the course a "woodsy" feel if you will, and in turn offers some great views of nature. Even if you're in west charlotte, make the trip to locust and check this gem out.
Great course.
This course amazes me every time I play it. The layout is truly spectacular. It is simple yet deceivingly challenging. Every obstacle is place just right for the normal golfer to have to worry about them all. I average in the mid 80s and loved how this course played
Nice layout. Great value
Three par 5's on front, including back to back. Three par 3's on front as well. Unique layout. The tee boxes rough but greens were excellent!
Great course, horrible pace of play
Course was wonderful, extremely nice layout, some very difficult holes, and very spread out. I don't think there's more than a few tee boxes directly off another hole. The pace of play was terrible, groups were stacked back to back and there was no marshal to keep pace. It took 3 hours to play the front 9 because we were constantly waiting. The only reason we finished is because we played through sunset past dusk and everyone else had gotten off the course. We played the last four holes in about 20 minutes, and we were sprinting to our balls. Play it on a day when no one else is out, and it's probably wonderful, but I won't be going back when the weather is nice.
Would be a great course
This course is long, not just in length but going from hole to hole, one trip takes you clear across the property. It was a great time great weather for december, my only concern is pace of play. There is a sign on the carts that stated each nine should take 2 hours and 15 minutes, I could see that as doable if you have played here enough to know the blind shots and layups, and if they didn't stack everybody on top of each other. Our round was just over 5 hours and we felt rushed and i know the people in front of us felt rushed, the group behinds us hit in to us twice because of the blind shots not knowing the group on the green was not us. The ranger tried picking up play but the only way to get ahead was to jump a group and lose a hole, to expensive to not play every hole you paid for. If they want a lot of players double book front and back but with adequate time in between. I will go back just will play earlier in the day when maybe the golf will be faster.
Good experience and great Golfnow Hot Deal Value
Was a nice round, great weather. Cart path only restriction slowed play, but otherwise a good experience. We traveled 50 miles to try this course for first time. Was worth it. Be back when we can drive out on fairways !
Great Value
Great greens, slow play due to holiday but great value
One of my favorites
Nice course, always in excellent shape. Fast greens and you must pay attention to grain on the greens and try to keep the ball below the hole to score well. Ball really rolls out in warm dry weather on fairways. The only bad thing I have to say about this course is the pace of play, I have played 5 .5 to 6 hour rounds on the weekend. This is due primarily to golfers playing the wrong tees for their skill level. There is a sign posted for handicap levels, stay within your handicap level and make this course more enjoyable for everyone! I would strongly recommend they get a marshal to regulate pace of play.... Just remember when you put a ball fifteen feet past the whole on championship Bermuda greens, it's not just the hill you putted down, it's the grain a lot of times. To enjoy the greens, get the pro to show you how to read the grain on the greens.... You will have a lot more fun!
Thank you for your kind words. We hope to see you soon.
