The greens we're in rough shape, otherwise happy with it

I was lucky enough to get a 18 dollar golf now price and that is about what the course was worth today. Fairways good shape, rough was tougher than usual, greens were worth about5 dollars. Greens have been verticut. They have not healed yet, they were very rough and slow. Putts did not roll true. Greens were very long, better mowing would be appreciated. Greens have a lot of repair going on, many places have new sod installed, very roughand not playable. Staff is very friendly.

Played The Highlands at the Meadows in Sarasota many times over the years. Like the course. But the red ants will soon over run the entire course! I've never seen the course in worse shape. Red ant mounds EVERYWHERE!! Watch where you step!! Those red ants BITE!!

I left the course after the 2nd green. It was cartpath only, which we weren't informed of beforehand. The GPS kept telling us. The greens were super slow. Normally, I like this course very much, but not today.

Hate to give a bad review but the course should be half price or closed due to the greens. Like putting on the tee box at a nicer course., some also damaged and others torn up and being repaired.

Have played here for many years..great staff and layout and GPS carts. But those greens make it not worth playing even for a low fee.

I play the Highlands quite regularly and enjoy it as a course. It does suffer some weather related issues after rain - some of the holes suffer from drainage problems and even after fairly light rain, you cannot drive your cart to your ball. Even more annoying is that the GPS system only advises you of this after you have set off across a fairway requesting you to return to the cart path - not that I mind doing this, but the cart goes into slow mode and creeps back. The course has had this problem for some years and it really should have been rectified by adding a drainage system on the effected holes - some of which could drain into the ponds and streams along these holes if correctly done underground drainage systems were employed. Today was such a round affected by wet ground. There were some greens that were undergoing repairs and those repairs should have been marked out as 'ground under repair' allowing for the ball to be moved and not to further damage those areas. On a brighter note, the staff at the course are always pleasant and helpful and the lady in the 'half way house' always greets you with a smile no matter how badly you are playing that day!

I enjoyed the round. Value for the money was excellent. Course was in good condition.
