The Highlands golf course is one of three courses owned and operated by Meadows Country Club. In addition to the Highlands and Meadows Courses, there is also the Arthur Hills-designed Groves Course, an 18-hole executive course. The Highlands Course has an "old Florida" layout equipped with plenty of trees and water that tumble across gentle hills. You'll be playing through majestic oaks and towering pines as you take on this challenging-but-fair test. Narrow, tree-lined fairways and small greens demand accuracy but generously the reward well placed shot. The golf course finishes with a tricky par 4. Your tee shot will to be straight and accurate to avoid the fairway bunkers on the left and right, positioning you for a mid iron back into a green that sloped front-to-back and guarded by bunkers on both sides. There is also a lake to the front left.

Highlands Golf

Greens were slow and fuzzy. Nice layout. Tee off rate of &25 was a good value. Course is a little dated and needs some renovation in areas. Weather was perfect and enjoyed my round.

Course in good condition

Course in great condition, although some greens had been punched and therefore slow and bobbly. Course was pretty quiet. Although a slow 4 ball in front of us that we had to wait for.

Course host should deal with those playing slow.

Great value. Wednesdays course fee includes a free beer in the tennis lounge. And 75 cents wings were great.

We will be back.

Beats shopping with the wife... ir

First time out to The Meadows Highlands Course. The greens were in bad shape. Lots of burned up spots and bare spots all over the putting surfaces. Not too many true rollers. The entire course is "cart path only" and the carts use GPS so many times throughout our round, the carts stopped working including once when made the turn and took a wrong turn and the cart stopped completely in a parking lot... Very poorly managed IMO... I'm a grown man, stopping my golf cart because you don't have your paths marked in a huge complex is not good for the consumer. The #9 Par 5 is the most ridiculous Par 5 I've played in 40 yrs of golf. Who wants to hit a 5 iron to hybrid off the tee of a part 5... All in all there are some good things about the place... The staff was friendly, the refreshment cart was around several times and they respected the virus... Prices were more than fair... I'm guessing with a little TLC to the greens and some dryer weather this could be a great track.

I like more each time

Play was a little slow today due to cart path only after all the rains.

My 6th time on the course and I very much enjoy it.

The Wetlands

They should call this course the Wetlands instead of the Highlands. Very wet, cart path only, greens were ok but it was casual water all over the course.

Wonderful round of golf

As a twosome, we played in 3 hours and were not pressured by the group behind. Conditioning of the course was typical Florida Summer, i.e. daily rains affected mowing in some areas and others were in need of repair. The greens were true and held approach shots.

All in all, an enjoyable afternoon.

Greens in poor condition

I was fortunate to be playing, or so I thought before they were going to aerate the greens. Greens needed help. They lost a lot of edges on a few greens probably due to recent hot weather and no rain. Green speeds were also inconsistent. Pace of play ok. Really liked the layout otherwise. You get a resort feel when loading your cart and driving to the first tee which was nice. Will probably not play there again with other opportunities with similar rates.
