Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

If you want to work on your short game this is good to goto.... greens were in good shape. Tee boxes were good. Will come back
Nice little course.
Not long but often narrow with the need to craft a well placed shot. Danger comes in deep bunkers and undulating greens.
Perfect day at the Groves.
i like this course... not too long, not too short, with some very interesting holes. We played in about 3 and a half hours. The location is just minutes from I-75, less than 45 minutes from our place in St. Petersburg. New carts with built-in yardage displays. Fun day... we look forward to returning again.
winter golf
The short yardage is tricky. It's harder that it looks. Straight shots are a must. Only a few carts have GPS and it's important. Since it's short, most beginners and women play it and that slows play considerably. It's winter golf so don't expect much for good lies anywhere since the grass is dormant but surprisingly the greens look very good in comparison to the rest of the course. Of course, there are some bad areas in them too. Slow play effects your rhythm and the course is tight, so for that reason, I couldn't recommend this layout. There are better bargains in the area..
Nice course
Very good short course with a half dozen interesting par 3's. Needed to use cell phone map to locate the correct green, for several holes this was not obvious, a couple other groups mistakenly hit balls onto the hole we were playing. Very friendly staff.
Challenging Golf
An executive course that actually plays like a regular golf course. Challenging holes, nice tee boxes, and nice greens. Greens could be faster but they rolled nice and true

Courses could use some repairs around the holes.

The course needs some maintenance. If you’re limited on time it’s a decent option but note if you like a traditional course this is not it. Should I get the game
