The Groves Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: The course is temporarily closed.
Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Always fun
We come to this course, my wife and I because we get to work on our game.
If you expect more you will be disappointed.
Fairways are kept greens are fair, given there has been no rain in some time.
3 hour round at a good price we play here pftem
Clean greens
Fairways & greens in good shape. Fun course with plenty of challenges for your irons. Not a long course, but you have to play smart to keep your score low.
Groves
Do not bother!!! My back lawn is in better shape.
Course closed for greens maintenance
The Groves Golf Course was closed for greens repair. Forced to play Highlands, which was NOT our preferred choice.
Suprised
I am a 10 handicap, went to play because coming off surgery and didn't want to swing the driver all day. What a pleasant surprise. For an executive course it was very interesting layout, with a number of risk reward holes. What the course lacks in length it makes up for in interesting and many very small greens. This is a fun course to play for all skill levels.
Very Impressed!
Considering the near drought conditions of the region, this course was quite green and enjoyably playable. Nine par threes offers a short, but fun course. Undulating fairways and greens are extremely challenging, with enough water and sand to turn a hole into a double bogie+. The slowest greens I ever experienced, must be cut high due to the drought(?). I think it made the greens more playable, with fewer divots, and I actually thought they were excellent with properly cut frog hair and approaches. Accurate, short irons are a must. Hybrids seem to play well, too.
The staff could not have been more helpful. They were quick, efficient, and professional in every way.
I was impressed with the overall prices, good parking, and even the cigar selection. The beer/snack cart added a luxury feel to the experience.
The driving range location was "different", and the cart path a tad confusing in spots, but well maintained.
If you want a quick, fun, challenging round, this is the place. I'll be back to sharpen my short game and relax.
Great time at the groves
THis course is great! If your looking for a round of golf that you can play in three hours will challenge your short game and is cost effective. This par 63 is worth a try!
Tight hit it straight
This is an executive course which tests your irons and short game
It was a much nicer course before they changed design and put driving range where former ninth hole was
When you finish 18 you have to wait and then drive by players on tenth hole
Yellow balls all over the holes around the driving range so use a white ball
Confusing for first time golfers
Unfortunately had very very slow group ahead of us and no Rangers on course
Nice Short Course
Although i found the course to be a little short,, i also found the pace of play to be slow,, could be because of all the par 3's
Greens were consistent
Great course with many challenges
I enjoy this course very much. Many challenges and plays fun.
