The Groves Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: The course is temporarily closed.
Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Where is the grass
I have played this course several times last year. This was the first round in 2018. The course conditions have definitely gone down hill. Grass in fairways is non existent. The tee boxes are beat up and ground is very uneven. The greens are decent with a good variety of difficulty making it important to know where you want ball to end up. Even though the course is somewhat short, the difficulty of some holes make it a fair challenge. My group likes to play a different course every week and are still considering the Groves as part of the rotation. Hopefully course conditions will improve once we get some rain. It appears that course is not being watered. Hopefully just a seasonal issue.
Nice exec course .
It was a nice little course . Very windy that day .
Slow down
As always, tee times too close together. Slow down newbies.
Not Your Typical Executive Course
Part of a three course complex that was very crowded. Round took nearly four hours. The course warns that it is more difficult than a typical executive course, and they are right. I would only recommend to someone who is prepared for tight landing spots, lots of water, and few holes with a safe strategy. Some of the things that can go wrong are not visible from the tee box, so check the map for each hole before teeing off. The starter was great, carefully explaining what was ahead and doing his best to combine us into foursomes to optimize pace of play. Each golf car has a large screen GPS, a nice addition.
Difficult to find way around.
I would play it again but only at a reduced price.
Good course
I have played this course many times. It is a good course to practise the short game but the greens were very slow. I believe they needed to be cut. Also, the sand traps were very poorly maintained.
Just Right
Quick game on spur of moment. Short course perfect for fast play and no stress.
Friendly staff, good value for the money, enjoy to play.
Great day
The pace of play was well spaced so that our game was very enjoyable. The staff are exceptional.
Day before Xmas
Tough executive course . 3hr round . Tee boxes showing wear , Greens were much faster than expected . Fun to play
The Groves - Still great
The Groves is a great confidence booster - greens were beautiful and consistent- its a short course so a lot of older people play which can be disturbing when u have a good round going- Be prepared to go slow if you get on top of another group - The older they get, the less they let you go through!! Ughh!
Great short course
Practiced my short game and hybrids Greens were a bit slow, but the Sand traps were perfect, Made at least 6 traps and they were fluffy and consistent.
